Abstract:
This study proposes a new perforated structure with wave dissipating ability which can be enhanced by changing the structure inside.A series of up-slope plates or down-slope plates were installed behind the openings of the front wall and several holes above the bottom are kept as discharge holes. With these sloping plates, the intruding waves may be forced to change directions of their motions, and running-up-like motions will happen in up-slope plates.Using the down-slope plates, the wave’s water particle movement is induced downward, then affects the structure of its fluctuation, thus affects the reflected wave energy. We also set a short slit caisson for comparison.By means of hydraulic model test,it is found that changing wave intrusion into multi-pore structure can help reduce the reflection wave. The related experiments can help further improve the new structure and can be used as a new way to reduce the fluctuation of the harbor by using the dissipative wharf structure.
