This paper illuminates the importance of the research on the construction technology of the trailing suction hopper dredger(TSHD)dredging and points out that that advanced construction technology of TSHD is the key means of giving full play to the capacity of TSHD,improving the dredging efficiency and saving resources.This paper also analyzes the characteristics and current situation of study on TSHD dredging process at home and abroad,discusses the existing achievements and problems,and proposes six important studying directions.With the breakthrough research,the engineering application field of TSHD can be widened and the international competitiveness of China’s dredging enterprises can be improved.
