    Abstract:

    By experimental study on some different forms of navigation walls of shiplock at the serpentine channel, it is shown that adopting arc navigation wall at the entrance area of ship lock approach channel can reduce the transverse and longitudinal velocity of flow at the entrance area of shiplock approach channel and improve the flow pattern. The effect of the inclination angle and curvature of the navigation wall on the flow pattern at the downstream entrance area is also analyzed.
