    Abstract:

    According to the 34-year site wave data from Qinhuangdao Ocean Observation Station, we obtained the design wave conditions of the variable return periods. TK-2d wave model and MIKE21 BW wave model were used to simulate the wave transformation near a dockyard. The design wave conditions along the contours near the engineering were obtained from the models. The wave height diagram in the harbor, the wave height near the dock and the wave’s influence on the working days of the dock were discussed between different breakwaters, channels and dock arrangements. In present model, the wave diffraction, wave refraction, wave reflection and bottom friction were taken into consideration for a better dockyard design.
