The purpose of the yard planning and design of automated container terminal is to make the yard operation ability and efficiency of the automated terminal,meet the requirements of the overall operation ability and efficiency of the automated terminal through the overall planning of the yard.Through the specific design of the yard,the functions of the automated yard can be realized and the requirement on the yard’s safe and efficient operation can be satisfied.The chief planning and design elements including the yard capacity,functional area,number of yards,length,width and stacking level of the automated container terminal are studied.Taking Qingdao Port automation terminal yard planning and design as an example,we expound the planning and design method of the automated container terminal yard.
