Based on an engineering project of the container port,we adopt the 3D software such as inventor and revit to explore the application of BIM technology in the design of the ground marking system in the container port.Through an exposition of the design process and a comparative analysis of the output results by the BIM technology and traditional design method,we point out the advantages of the BIM design method and provide a new 3D design method and corresponding technological route for the detailed design of ground marking system in the container port,and thus to improve the insufficient of traditional design method.
