The formation mechanism and significance of ship-generated waves are expounded.Based on engineering cases,the ship-generated wave force on moored ships and tension of mooring lines are calculated by software OPTIMOOR,and the four influence factors of ship-generated waves on moored ships are concluded.It suggests that the tension of mooring lines rises with the increase of the navigational speed and displacement tonnage,and it declines with the increase of the transverse distance and water depth.Thus proper vessel pilotage and efficient control of above influence factors are necessary for safe operation.
