In order to effectively use and integrate dredged materials into the port land formation works,a supporting dike of about 18 km long had been constructed in the Phase I of 300，000 DWT navigation channel development works at Lianyungang Port.The dike structure was made up of toe-shooting riprap dike and sandbag sloping dike,so these two different types of structure had to be connected properly during construction.This paper introduces the design solution of the connection between these two dikes as applied in the Phase I channel works,and accordingly presents the closure gap arrangement as well.
