The development of water transportation has promoted the national economy, and at the same time increased the risk of oil spills in the marine environment by ships. This paper introduces a case of the petrochemical terminal risk assessment in Guangzhou port, such as: risk identification, source resolution, and impact prediction of the risk, and points out the difficulties of marine environmental risk assessment, and puts forward suggestions on the improvement of codes for marine environmental risk assessment by ships.
