The difference in soil consolidation effect and cost between the high-performance wick drain and common wick drain is analyzed. According to the settlement monitoring data and detected result, it is proved that high-performance wick drain is advanced in both soil consolidation effect and cost than the common wick drain. So a new kind of material, high-performance wick drain, which is more excellent and more economical, is recommended and provided for the soil consolidation engineering.
