The reclamation engineering design shall consider comprehensively the engineering safety and quality, the convenience in construction, and the engineering cost. The design shall be optimized according to the geologic conditions. Taking the large-scale reclamation project of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River as an examle, this paper probes into the design and construction of reclamation from the selection of materials, optimization of designed cross-sectional dimensions, as well as the operation of the check & evaluation standard, etc.
