Since October 1, 2011, the remote manuscript processing system of the Editorial Department of the Port & Waterway Engineering has been officially launched. Authors can submit manuscripts online. The process is as follows:
 
New User Registration
Click on "Author Login" under the "User Center" column on the website's home page. Register as a new user according to the page prompts. After registration, enter your submission email and click on the activation email to start normal use.
 
Submission
Log in to the submission system using the registered username and password. Click the "Submit Manuscript" button under the "Manuscript Management" column. Add relevant information according to the page prompts to complete the submission operation. Please carefully read the submission instructions, standardize your article as required, and then submit it. Our journal only accepts submissions in WORD format. Authors are required to fill in the detailed communication address, postal code, contact number, and email address of the contact person in detail (no items can be missing).
 
Manuscript Inquiry
After submission, you can log in to the website at any time, enter the "Manuscript Management - Manuscript Inquiry" page, and query by manuscript number or manuscript title to understand the processing status of the manuscript and other information about the manuscript.
 
Manuscript Revision
Before the editorial department has processed the manuscript in any way, you can modify the manuscript information at any time on the "Manuscript Inquiry" page. Once the manuscript has been processed, you can only modify the manuscript after the editorial department has carried out the revision operation. When submitting the revised manuscript, click on [Upload/Download Revised Manuscript | Manuscript to be Revised] under the menu [Manuscript Management], find the manuscript number, click [View] to read the review comments, and download the text through [Download Original Text | Download Revised Manuscript]. After completing the revision according to the revision comments, upload the revised manuscript back through [Upload Revised Manuscript]. Do not use the submission function to resubmit this manuscript, otherwise it will be regarded as a new manuscript, and the existing review results will be invalidated.
 Submission Instructions 
Scope and Content of Soliciting Contributions
Our journal mainly publishes research, design, and construction content related to water transportation engineering. The main columns include: Comprehensive, Port, Waterways and Navigation Structure, as well as Ground and Foundation, Construction, Supervision, Information Technology, etc. related to port and waterway engineering. Authors whose content deviates from the above columns are advised to submit manuscripts with caution.
 
Requirements for Submitted Manuscripts
 
1)The copyright holder of the thesis should ensure that the submitted manuscript is an original work that has not been publicly published. If there are any infringement issues after the thesis is published, all responsibilities shall be borne by the copyright holder.
 
2)The submitted manuscript must not involve national secrets. If there are any problems of leakage of secrets, all responsibilities shall be borne by the copyright holder.
 
3)The argument should be correct, the evidence sufficient, the focus prominent, the logic rigorous, the data reliable, and the language concise.
 
4)For the pictures in the article, the original pictures should be inserted (do not use the screenshot method), and the text in the pictures should be clearly visible.
 
5)Layout and Length: A4 layout, full - column typesetting, and the main text in size 5 font. The length generally should not exceed 6,000 Chinese characters.
 
6)The submitted manuscript must include the title of the thesis, the names of the authors, the unit (postal code), the abstract of the thesis, keywords, the Chinese Library Classification number, a photo of the first author, and the author's profile (date of birth, gender, educational background, professional title, current field of scientific and technological work or research direction), as well as the English translations of the above from the title of the thesis to the keywords. The title of the thesis should appropriately reflect the specific content of the article, and the Chinese title generally should not exceed 20 Chinese characters.
 
7)The corresponding author (not the contact person of the manuscript) refers to the supervisor of a student at school or the general project leader (the first person in charge). If it is required to add the introduction of the corresponding author (not the contact person of the manuscript, referring to the supervisor of a student at school or the project leader) in the main text, please provide the corresponding supporting materials.
 
8)The abstract of the thesis (in Chinese and English) is a complete and concise short article (not less than 300 Chinese characters), including four parts: purpose, method, result, and conclusion. It should be independent and self - contained. The abstract aims to provide an outline and does not require self - evaluation of the research results. The data presented in the abstract should be the most important and crucial data, and no chart parameters should appear. The abbreviated names in the abstract should have their full names when they appear for the first time. When writing the English abstract, do not abandon key points just because some content is difficult to translate.
 
9)The keywords should be 4-8 words or terms that can express the theme content of the full text. Nouns and terms must conform to national standards, national military standards, and relevant industry standards. Try to use nouns or noun phrases and avoid using adjectives or adjective phrases as keywords. The Chinese and English keywords should correspond one by one.
 
10)The section numbering of the thesis adopts three-level headings arranged at the top: the first - level headings are 1, 2, 3, …; the second - level are 1.1, 1.2…; the third - level are 1.1.1, 1.1.2…
 
11)The physical quantities and measurement units in the main text (including figures and tables) must conform to the latest national standards, international standards, and regulations. The language, case (upper- or lower-case), italics or roman, bold or not, sub- and super- scripts of foreign letters, and letters that are easily confused should be written clearly. It is necessary to distinguish between numerical equations and quantity equations, and the writing should conform to the general principles of GB 3101-1993 regarding quantities, units, and symbols.
 
12)The content of figures and tables should be self - explanatory and appear along with the text. The characters and data in them should be accurate, clear, and error - free, and consistent with the main text. Figures and tables should be attached with figure numbers (table numbers). The figure titles (table titles) should be expressed in Chinese and English. 

13)The references should be mainly selected from publicly published ones, and try to select those published in recent years at home and abroad. Number them in the order of appearance in the main text. Chinese references must be translated into English at the same time. For the names of Chinese and foreign literature authors, the surname comes first and the given name comes later. List all of them if there are 3 or less, and if there are more than 4, list only 3, followed by "et al". The page numbers of the cited references must not be omitted; (You can refer to the reference citation format in the Download Center).The number of cited references should not be less than 10.
 
14)For papers derived from the National Natural Science Foundation, key provincial, ministerial, or commissioned projects, or award - winning projects, please indicate the relevant project name and approval number.
 
Submission, Review, Acceptance, and Copyright
 
1)Submission: Please visit our journal's website at www.sygc.com.cn. Register as an author. After your account is activated, log in again and submit your manuscript online as per the website instructions. The manuscript should be in WORD format. Meanwhile, provide the detailed communication address, postal code, contact number, and email address of the contact person.
 
2)Review method: The review follows a three - step system, namely the initial review by the editorial department, the expert review and re - review (special review), and the final decision by the editorial department based on the expert opinions.
 
3)Review period: Depending on the incoming manuscripts, the editorial department will inform the author of the manuscript acceptance status on this website within 1-3 months. Please keep an eye on the status of your manuscript. During this period, please do not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals. For manuscripts submitted by authors who engage in multiple submissions, our journal will directly reject them without proceeding to the next step.
 
4)After the author uploads the copyright statement, once the manuscript is accepted (passing the initial review and expert review), the signatures of all authors shall not be changed.
 
5)Our journal has the right to edit and revise the submitted manuscripts. The copyright of the published papers belongs to the editorial department. Once a manuscript is published, the remuneration will be paid in accordance with relevant national regulations, and the current issue of the journal will be presented to each author according to the number of authors.
 
6)Our journal does not charge a review fee. The page-charge standard is as follows: If the first-author's unit is not a council member unit, it is 500 yuan per printed page. If the first author is a student at school, a 30% discount is offered.
 
7)Copyright license statement: All copyright holders agree that when the paper is submitted to Port & Waterway Engineering for publication, once accepted, the digital reproduction right, distribution right, compilation right, and information network dissemination right of this paper will be transferred to the editorial department of Port & Waterway Engineering.
