      2017(3):16-21.

      Abstract (1303) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (0) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Through a series of triaxial shear tests and soil cutting tests with prototype rake tooth in Huanghua port area,we probe into the shear dilation characteristic of the saturated dense silt and its influence on the cutting resistance of the rake tooth. The triaxial test results show that the saturated dense silt in Huanghua area exhibits significant strain softening during the shear process. The relationship between the peak stress and the confining pressure is nearly linear. In shearing process, the soil shows shear contraction and then dilatancy. With the increase of confining pressure, the properties of shear contraction are more and more obvious. The stress-strain curve should be divided into 4 different stages. The soil cutting tests with prototype rake tooth show that the cutting resistance of the saturated soil grows faster than that of the unsaturated soil. The maximum value of the cutting resistance of saturated soil is 2.7~3.3 times as that of unsaturated soil. For the saturated soil, the fluctuation range is larger than that of the unsaturated soil after the cutting resistance is stable. The test results show that the soil dilatancy effect on the cutting resistance of the rake tooth is very significant and appropriate measures for reducing the influence of dilatancy on the cutting resistance should be taken.

    • Diffracted wave forces caused by cnoidal wave on arc-shaped bottom-mounted breakwater

      2017(3):28-33.

      Abstract (1048) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (0) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Based on cnoidal wave diffraction theory, the wave potential solutions to shallow water wave diffraction by arc-shaped bottom-mounted breakwater are derived by applying the eigenfunction expansion approach, and accordingly the horizontal wave loads on breakwater are analytically calculated. The evaluating results demonstrate that the variation of incident wave angle, nonlinear influence parameter of wave, ocean condition, and breakwater structure geometry condition may have some influence on shallow water wave effects on breakwater.Compared with small amplitude wave theory, the results of maximum dimensionless wave forces from first order cnoidal wave theory are obviously larger than those predicted by small amplitude wave theory in certain shallow water condition and reflects wave nonlinear effects.

      Abstract (1025) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (0) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:A physical model test method is carried out to study the wave dissipation performance of the trapezoidal and rectangular combined submerged breakwaters. The attenuation effect of the single submerged breakwater and the combined ones is compared, and the effect of some factors such as the water depth on the breakwater, the wave height, the spacing and the number of submerged breakwater on the transmission coefficient Kt of submerged breakwaters are analyzed. The experimental results show that the transmission coefficient of the combination of submerged breakwaters increases with the water depth on the breakwater, and decreases with the increase of wave height. When the distance between the combined submerged breakwaters is close to half wave length, the wave dissipation effect is comparatively obvious. The more breakwaters submerged in the water, the better the attenuation effect achieved, and the number can be chosen according to the actual project.

    • Impacts of bay mouth reclamation on hydrodynamic environment of Qinzhou Bay

      2017(3):44-50.

      Abstract (1299) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (0) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:This paper discusses the impacts of bay mouth reclamation on the inland sea and channel from three aspects:tide, tidal flux and water change. Results show that the two projects have little influence on the inner bay.For Jin’gu River, reclamation narrows the channel width, decreases the flow velocity and diminishes the tidal flux by 17%.The half-exchange period is extended by 1.21 days.Lao-ren sand enclosure can strengthen the tidal volume of east channel but has little influence on Jin’gu River, because the narrowing of Jin’gu river may diminish the water diversion ratio.Though bay mouth reclamation partially takes up the middle channel,it has little influence on the inner bay, which means future reclamation planning can be considered the middle channel and beaches on its both sides.

      2017(3):51-57.

      Abstract (1299) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (0) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:By using several methods such as pile shear method, elastic supported rigid beam method, etc.,we calculate, compare and analyze spatial characteristics and distribution coefficients of variable stiffness frame wharf under the action of horizontal loads. The result shows that pile shear method is more suitable to indicate spatial characteristics of the frame wharf. When the stiffness between different bents is approximately similar, the distribution coefficients calculated by using elastic supported rigid beam method is similar to the value in the code.On this basis, correlation among the stiffness value, the position of the huge stiffness bent and distribution coefficient is studied by changing the stiffness value and the position.Meanwhile, the spatial characteristics of the frame wharf and the effect of face slab on distribution coefficients are analyzed.

      Abstract (1051) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (0) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Through wave section physical model experiment, the stability of the mattress of seawall with hinged concrete slab mattress revetment is studied under different conditions such as water depth, wave height, wave period, wave type and ballast block’s space. The characteristics of instability for different parts of mattress are revealed. The experiment results show that the stability of mattress is worse under the circumstance that wave height is higher or wave period is longer when the water depth is the same. The impact action of irregular wave on the stability of mattress is significantly more than action of regular wave. The instability of mattress occurs mainly in the edge of head and tail part, and the stability of internal part is better. The mattress still has good stability when it uses the structural type that the edge of head and tail ballast block with large thickness and the internal ballast block with small thickness.Ballast block’s space should be determined rationally with consideration of all factors in actual engineering because it will influence the stability and the ability of abrasion-resistance,deformation and beach protection of mattress and the selection of gravel cushion.

Abstract:The controversy existing in the recommended formula by Specifications for Environmental Impact Assessment of Port Engineering(JTS 105-1—2011)was discussed. The influences of different quantitative methods of the parameters on the wind erosion dust source intensity were evaluated with the data from an actual example. The calculations by the formula in Compiling Technique Guide for Dust Source Particulate Matter Emission List(trail)were employed as a standard to measure the accuracy of the quantitative methods of the dimensions. The results showed that:when calculating the wind erosion dust source intensity with the formula recommended by the specifications, compared with the results by the guide, the dimension of Q should be kga.When the height of stack was higher than 15 m,the wind speed should be adjusted with height of stack. However, the calculating results of dust quantity would increase. The erosion dust calculations of different dust control efficiency measurement were similar, which meant that the integrated shielding efficiency of windbreak net was feasible for the calculation of erosion dust source intensity.

Abstract:We study the bearing mechanisms of the jacked pile during the pressing in sand with model test.To analyze stress changing laws of model pile while it is pressed into four different depths,we entirely measured the axial force, the displacement of model pile top,the strain of model pile top,and the circumferential strain and longitudinal strain of model pile.Using a semi-analytical and semi-numerical method,we deduced confining pressure and friction resistance according to circumferential strain and radial strain of model pile. The results show that:in the beginning of penetration, there will be negative friction in the upper part of model pile;as the penetration depth increases, the range and the values of negative friction in upper part are reduced until it disappears;pile skin friction is a smaller proportion in pile resistance, but its proportion increases with pressing depth increasing.Confining pressure increases with depth of penetration during the whole process.Confining pressure in the same depth of the soil is also increasing during the process of penetration. With the penetration depth increases, increasing trend of pile skin friction and confining pressure presents a better consistency, and the ratio between pile skin friction and confining pressure is from 0.41 to 0.53.
