      Abstract:To counter the problems in the Yangtze River 12.5 m deepwater channel phase II project Hechangzhou section soft mattress detection and cross-section control of deepwater submerged dike under conditions of deep water and large flow velocity,we compare multiple underwater detection methods,and apply the Sonic 2024 multi-beam detection technique for the first time to the control of soft mattress,deepwater bagged sand and underwater riprapping in the construction of underwater regulating works,by which,accurate data concerning the image,location and elevation of underwater structures are obtained and visualized and quantitative analysis of underwater concealed works are realized to guide the construction.

      Abstract:Combined with the first phase and the second phase project of 12.5 m deepwater channel of the Yangtze River downstream Nanjing,using the supporting inclined plate geotextiles-laying vessel,the deepwater sinking soft mattre was constructed.In the first phase of the project under the conditions of 35 m water depth and 2 m/s velocity,the construction method of deep water sinking soft mattre was completed.In the two phase of construction under the 46 m water depth conditions,the sinking soft mattre construction was completed.The construction method of waterway regulation reforms the traditional layout construction using hanging floating skateboard laying equipment.The construction efficiency was up to 1 222.2 m2/h,and paving soft mattre longest single row body is 642.6 m.

      Abstract:On the basis of the hydrological data obtained from fixed-point observation in the mouth area of Xiashimen strait channel from May 10 to 19,2015(from neap tide to spring tide),the hydrodynamics characteristics and transport mechanism of water are analyzed using the method of harmonic analysis,mathematical statistics and decomposition mechanism.The results show that:the nature of tides is moderate intensity non-regular semidiurnal shallow sea tide;the characteristic of tidal wave is similar to that of typical forward wave;the form of tidal current is in the transition zone of the reversing current to rotational flow,and the tides rotate in a clockwise direction.The vertical distribution of tidal current velocity decreases from the surface to the bottom,and the maximum flow rate appears in the surface layer or 0.2H layer;the average vertical velocity shows spring tide>neap tide>mean tide; the flood current is dominant in the water,and tide dominant flow decreases from neap tide to spring.Water transport power bases on Euler residual current,and shows spring tide>neap tide>mean tide.

      Abstract:Flow around cylinder has widely existed in hydraulic engineering,construction engineering,and environmental engineering.Based on the previous researches,this paper summarizes the flow patterns and the force characteristics of single cylinder,two cylinders,and cylinder group by the stages of analytical research,physical model and numerical simulation.It can be found that most researches focused on the flow patterns and the force characteristics of single cylinder or two cylinders.The further research of cylinder group under more complex situations should be carried out on marine risers,high-piled wharf and environmental engineering,and develops the active control technology to control wake characteristics effectively.

      Abstract:A seawall is the main subject of the coastal reclamation,and the accurate calculation and the control of the overall sliding stability of the seawall are the key points of the successful completion of the whole reclamation projects.The Sweden slice method and the simplified Bishop method are two overall anti-sliding stability calculation methods which are commonly used at present.Considering the influence of pore water pressure,these two methods are compared from the aspects of the calculation principle,the basic assumption,the derivation and simplification of formula and so on,and the relationship between two methods is obtained.Then a typical project of soft embankment along the coast of Fujian province is calculated using these two methods,further demonstrating the relationship between the two methods.

      Abstract:This study summarizes impacts of waterway transport business(include harbor,waterway construction,ships)on the water environment,atmospheric environment,environment and aquatic ecology,etc.in the Yangtze River.The result shows that the impacts are longterm,dispersive,stationary,mobile and complex.So we establish an integrated green waterway transport system(GWTS) which includes the main system(ecological harbor,ecological waterway and new-type ships) and auxiliary system(industry standards,environmental monitoring network and scientific research),which may serve as reference for the Yangtze River waterway transport construction and spreading of GWTS concept.

      Abstract:Based on the seawall protection engineering,modified the original rigid structure with the hinged fascine mattress technique,a series of tests were applied at the indoor wave flume to determine the minimum stable thickness of hinged fascine mattress.The results show that the minimum stable thickness of hinged fascine mattress under regular wave is much less than that under irregular wave although both the regular and the irregular wave have similar wave parameters.The wave period is as important as the wave height when determining the stable thickness.The new fitting formula about the minimum stable thickness of hinged fascine mattress was obtained based on the test results and previous formulas.

      Abstract:Based on the physical model experiment,we study the wave overtopping of sloping seawall influences of the height of wave wall,the length and height of platform,the wave height,the wave dissipation pier,etc.on the wave overtopping under the irregular wave,which shows that the wave wall,platform and wave dissipation pier can reduce the wave overtopping.Comparing the result calculated by the exiting formula on the overtopping and that from the physical model test,we propose the recommend calculation method for the wave overtopping.

      Abstract:Xiazhi ferry wharf expansion project is located in the northwest of Xiazhi island.Two ferry berths of 1 000 GT with a floating structure are to be built.Using the data of environmental quality investigation of the coastal area near the engineering site,we analyze the impact on water quality,ecological environment and other sea use activities.The result indicates that the construction will have a slight influence on water quality and sea use activities,but will cause some losses of fishery resources.The artificial enhancement and release of fish is advised to reduce the damage to the ecological environment.In general,it is feasible to implement the sea use of the project.

      Abstract:This paper introduces the status and development plan of the waterway and harbor and the development of hydropower resources,analyzes the comprehensive transportation system of Jinshajiang navigation hinterland,and calculates the transportation cost analyses on the typical transportation path.Based on the investigation and analysis,the traffic volume and cargo throughput of main ports are forecasted.With consideration of the influence on the shipping conditions by the cascade development,the potential of shipping development in Jinshajiang river is analyzed and reasonable section in the Yangtze River extended to Jinshajiang river is proposed.According to the conditions of the four hydropowers on the middle and lower reaches of the Jinshajiang river,the types of the cargo which suit the method of transport over dams are analyzed,and corresponding routes with the principle of transport organization are proposed.Technical economy analysis on the scheme of transport over dams in the way of water-highway-water and the scheme of the short distance transport in the way of highway-water are carried out.The results of the study are of significant value in the argument of the development of shipping resources in the section between Panzhihua and Shuifu in Jinshanjiang river.

      Abstract:The determination method of the span of construction crossing curved river is researched.The research results show that the span of construction crossing natural curved river is closely related with ship track width,ship drift distance induced by flow,ship drift distance induced by wind,turbulent range of construction pier etc.The more are the above factors,the larger is the span of construction crossing curved river.And the mathematical modes of ship drift distance induced by transverse flow in curved channel,turbulent range of construction pier,the minimum span of construction crossing natural curved river are put forward.

      Abstract:Affected by two continuous rapids including the upstream Doulizi rapids and downstream Dongxikou shoals,the navigation condition of Dongxikou waterway is poor.Aiming at the existing problems of Dongxikou waterway at present,three different regulation schemes are given.To analyze the effect of different schemes,the condition and difficulty of ships’ ascending,as well as the navigation parameters,we adopt the small- scale ship model for the ship’s ascending rapids test.According to the comparative analysis results,we choose the best engineering scheme,through which,the advantage of the ship model test is highlighted.This test has the advantage of the ship model test in river model measurement technique and application value in engineering.

      Abstract:Influence of unsteady flow on navigation condition of downstream channel is the main issues to consider in the implementation of Xiangjiaba project. Effects of water flow conditions and boundary conditions on the ship navigation and the interaction between the ship and the channel cannot be fully and accurately reflected in traditional study on the influence of navigation conditions.Using measurement and control technology of small scale ship model,based on similar analysis and maneuverability calibration of real ship,we research the influence of unsteady flow on navigation condition of downstream channel.Combined with experimental results,the main influence factors are quantitatively analyzed,which provide scientific and reliable data basis for the optimization design of the Xiangjiaba project.

      Abstract:The navigational condition of Tuqiao waterway has deteriorated since 1998,but the navigation-obstructing characteristics have varied with time.Therefore,this dissertation attempt to delve into the mutation of the navigation-obstructing characteristics.Firstly,it draws on data from the topography and hydrology of Tuqiao as well as the date of water and sediment from Datong hydrological station during 1955 to 2014.Secondly,by using the ordered cluster method it analyzes the changes of sediment discharge of Datong hydrological station,and the reasons of the variations of navigation-obstructing characteristics.The results show that the navigation-obstructing characteristics have changed from the problems of section shape and silty-sand to the declining split ratio of the left branch.The main reason is the changes in the water and sediment process of Datong hydrological station after the impoundment of Three Gorges Reservoir.The new process of water and sediment is detrimental to the maintenance/stabilization in the flow diversion ratio of the left branch,which specially causes a significant decrease in the flow diversion ratio after the operation of 175 m water impoundment scheme,and has become the main reason of the worsening navigational condition.

      Abstract:Lianshitan is a well-known complex rapids in the upper Yangtze River,with the navigation obstacle character of shallow,dangerous and large velocity in the dry season.Riverbed evolution and flow characteristics are analyzed.Based on the navigation obstacle character and navigation hindering causes of Lianshitan,the regulation schemes is proposed.The research results can provide for waterway regulation of the separated type rapids made of non-rock,which is shallow but large velocity and large gradient ratio in the dry season.

      Abstract:In view of the characteristics of the dynamic management for the navigation-power junction construction,we build the DEM and 3D hydraulic structures of the navigation-power junction and propose a fusion method of 3D scene based on the construction principle of digital topographic map(DEM) and applying “CityEngine” technology.Then,on the basis of the spatial database technology of ArcSDE and SQL Server,we realize the connection of the attribute data and spatial data by taking the advantage of the internal code and the user identification code as the common data item,establish the 3D scene dynamic display method to accomplish 3D dynamic visual simulation for the construction process of navigation-power junction,and design the 3D dynamic display of engineering construction and information synchronization update mechanism for the construction process to achieve dynamic visual management of the navigation-power junction construction.Finally,based on the established systemic functional framework and taking the construction management of Yilan navigation-power junction for example,we develop a 3D visual management system of the dynamic construction,expecting to provide a technical support for the visualization and delicacy management of the navigation-power junction construction.

      Abstract:Aiming at the defect in the existing methods for wave overtopping measurement,a new technique named as sounding method was presented based on water depth variation measured by hydraulic pressure sensors in tank.A comprehensive description was provided on the basic principle of sounding method as well as the operation steps and data processing techniques to obtain the mean wave overtopping discharge,single wave overtopping volume and wave overtopping rate from the fluctuated data of hydraulic pressure sensors,meanwhile the method’s accuracy was evaluated through tests.The result shows that sounding method can be reliably applied in all kinds of tests with the main purpose of overtopping measurement.For mean wave overtopping discharge,a similar precision of the traditional methods can be reached,while the relative error of single wave overtopping volume generally can be controlled within 5%.Compared to the existing ones,sounding method has the advantages of more sensitive recognition,wider range of application,simpler operation,lower maintenance cost and more easily shard application.

      Abstract:Based on the transfer matrix method of vertical elastic foundation beam,the sheet-pile wall and the corresponding soil layer are divided into thinner soil layers in the same kind of soil,and a fixed point iterative formula of solving m value is established.According to the results of horizontal deformation field measurements of three typical sheet pile wall projects in the lower Yangtze River region,the ranges of m value for the silty clay and slit sand are presented by the inversion method.The inversion analyses of m value can well reflect the actual situation,and the results indicate that the m value will rise with the increase of depth and then tends to be stable.For the similar project in the lower Yangtze River region,the inversion results show that the recommended ranges of m value for the silty clay and slit sand for the large deformation of sheet-pile are 2 700~3 400 kN/m4 and 2 000~2 800 kN/m4 respectively,and it can provide a reliable basis for selection of m value in the similar region.

      Abstract:In order to study the bearing capacity of pipe piles,this paper investigates on the distribution function of pile total skin friction for pipe piles based on the field test data of pipe piles.Meanwhile,the equation of distribution function of pipe pile total skin friction is established,and the parameters in the equation are illustrated.It is found that most of the curves of the distribution of pile total skin friction and versus pile head settlement present linear relationship for all types of pile length and length diameter ratio,and there’s no relation between the linear correlativity and that pile head load,pile total skin friction reach ultimate state or not.The pipe pile total skin frictions are calculated based on the distribution function,and the results are compared with the measured values,the error is within 15%.The equation of distribution function of pipe pile total skin friction can be established for pipe piles which have only pile head load values and pile head settlement values,and the pile total skin friction and pile tip resistance can be obtained,then the bearing behaviors of pipe piles can be analyzed and acquired.However,the investigation is still preliminary because of the complexity,more field test data are required to improve and deepen the distribution function of pile total skin friction for pipe piles.

      Abstract:With the rapid development of port construction,the foundation treatment of newly reclaimed silt becomes the problem which is needed to solve urgently.On the basis of field test,combining the results of each monitoring and testing,and in order to analyze the strengthening mechanism of vacuum preloading and contrast the reinforcement effect of different types of drainage plate,we study the clogging of different types of drainage plates.The testing results indicate that the connecting drainage plate and steel wire hose by new butterfly joint directly improve the transfer efficiency of vacuum degree greatly,and the vacuum degree tube to drainage plate just has small loss.During the vacuum pumping,the fine particles in soil moving toward the drainage plate with water forms the “soil column”,the pore pressure dissipation and shear strength become less with the increase of distance between drainage plate and soil.The depth range of “soil column is 1.5 m to 2.0 m based on the analysis of pore pressure dissipation and shear strength of soil.Analyzing the treatment effect of different types of drainage plates,we know that the imported membrane drainage plate is better than the the joint-ventured membrane drainage plate,and the joint-ventured is better than the ordinary membrane drainage plate.The permeability coefficient of drainage plate after treatment still meets the design requirements,and the permeability coefficient of soil reduces with the decrease of distance between the drainage plate and soil.The cause of bad treatment of soil between drainage plates is that “soil column” blocks the transfer of vacuum degree to surrounding soil.

      Abstract:The vacuum preloading method has been applied widely to the compaction of the newly-blown muck in the land reclamation engineering,but the compaction effect shall be improved.Based on Lianyungang newly-blown muck engineering,we propose that the shallow course within 3 to 5 meters range is the key part to be compacted by the vacuum preloading method,the flow silt approaches the critical state after 3 months’ vacuum preloading,and the effect of continuous vacuum preloading operation is not obvious.We then propose to adopt the gas injection method from the view of unsaturated zone to turn the plastic or soft soil into mucky clay with shallow unsaturated zone. Comparing with ordinary soft foundation treatment,the physical and mechanical indexes of soil are improved obviously.

      Abstract:Upsizing of cutter suction dredger can significantly boost its production capacity,and improve its dredging efficiency,and protect the environment and reduce the labor intensity.Very large cutter suction dredger is one of mainstream development direction.This study presents a rounded new design method of slurry transportation system on the very large cutter suction dredger(VLCSD),and introduces the application in the VLCSD designed by Shanghai Jiaotong University,which has the biggest power station(2.4 MW)and the biggest production capacity(target operating condition:delivery distance 8 km,dredging depth 30 m,discharge height 10 m,average particle size d50=0.23 mm,production capacity bigger than 8 000 m3/h)all over the world.This method is based on the researches of the predecessors about energy consumption in the slurry transportation by pipeline,the effect of slurry on the performance of centrifugal pump and so on.Optimizing operation point to enhance the economic performance of dredger and the limit conditions for checking design optimization method is proposed at first time.The results show that the efficiency of the pump is up to 84% and the efficiency of the diesel engine is up to 90% under the design condition,which can achieve a good energy saving and economic efficiency.

      Abstract:Based on the field experiments at a project in a coastal area,a numerical model was built to simulate the construction of high pressure jet grouting in order to investigate the variation laws of pore water pressure caused by the construction of high pressure jet grouting pile.The results show that the pore water pressure of the soil at different depths along the radial direction is basically logarithmic attenuation,the pore water pressure along the depth generally shows a decreasing trend while the turning point appears in the local area,the calculation of a finite element with covering is closer to the measured data,the dissipation of pore water pressure derived from the deep finite element calculation method fits well with the measured data,and with the depth decreasing error increase.The pore water pressure increases with the increase of grouting pressure.

      Abstract:This paper introduces the application of aided design software based on MATLAB for the construction of floating booster station.Rationally designed of the floating booster station by the calculation results can avoid partial discharge pressure being too high after series connection of multistage mud pump of cutter suction dredger.It solves the technological problems that cutter suction dredger can’t construct in long-distance discharge because of the limitation of conveying distance.The research result has been successfully applied to the reclamation project of 50 million t/a coal wharf in Caofeidian.

      Abstract:In Binzhou port 30 000 ton waterway project,soil has fine grain,and is dense and extrahard .There were some problem when CSD dredged the soil,which were that the cutter motor current fluctuated,and it was easy to hob when the cutter rotates in the same direction as the movement direction,and the shifing anchor might drag,and the productivity was low.To solve the above problems,we compared and analysed the cutter type,and adjusted excavation footage,and optimized the construction of key parameters,and found the pipeline additional resistance.Fluctuation amplitude of the cutter motor current was decreased.The frequency of hobbing and dragging was reduced.The productivity increased by about 15%.The construction costs was saved,while the time limit for the project was shortened .

      Abstract:To solve the problem of serious extra-dredging by the large self-propelled trailing suction hopper dredger in channel dredging construction,especially in the large-span deepwater channel dredging construction,we adopt RTK non-tide technology,multi-beam sounding system and layered excavation technology in the dredging engineering of 300 000 DWT main channel of Meizhou bay by the large self-propelled trailing suction dredger the Long Whale 6 to explore the technologies in precise control of dredging depth as well as the management measures by analyzing the tidal data,dynamic hierarchies and measurement results,especially by comparing and calibrating the tidal observation station data with GPS RTK tidal observation data.
