      Abstract:Based on the measured hydrological data before and after the implementation of the Luocheng shoal defending project,we analyze its impact on the hydrodynamic conditions and split ratio at Kouanzhi channel upper shallow area.The result shows that after implementation of the Luocheng shoal defending project,the mainstream of Sanyiqiao shallow area has a tendency of concentrating to the center of the channel,which is favorable for the scouring of the main branch’s deep channel and improvement of the channel condition.But both the flow speed and the diversion ratio at the right branch increase,which are unfavorable for further improvement of channel condition at the left branch.

      Abstract:Wade project research and design need the underwater topographic map analysis,through which,we will know the statistical terrain features and understand the change of river bed,and then carry out targeted dredging and building of regulation structures.In the process of underwater topography analysis,selection of interpolation method is particularly important,because its precision directly influences the analysis results of back silting and river bed change regularity.At present,there are many studies on interpolation methods,but there is a lack of data grid processing in the terrain analysis.We compare the accuracy among various interpolation methods,and provide reference for the selection of interpolation methods.

      Abstract:As the application environment of retaining wall is complex,it becomes important to calculate the soil pressure reasonably.About the calculation to the soil pressure of clay,Rankine’s theory about soil pressure does not consider the friction between soil mass and retaining wall,and Coulomb’s theory about soil pressure can only be used to calculate the non-cohesive soil,In order to consider the effect of friction and cohesion,the theory about equivalent internal frication angle was put forward.Three kinds of calculation methods were listed to calculate the equivalent internal frication angle,and the most reasonable calculation method was chosen through analysis.On this basis,a new calculation formula for equivalent internal frication angle was proposed by considering uniform load and water level behind the wall.

      Abstract:Based on the precedence-controlled pollutants of EPA in America and the precedence-controlled pollutants in China,and according to the test data reported in the literatures about the water quality pollutants in the Yangtze River,this paper utilized the comprehensive scoring method combining with Delphi method to screen the precedence-controlled pollutants in dredged soil of the Jingjiang river waterway.Results show that the typical pollutants in dredged soil of the Jingjiang river waterway are nine kinds of main pollutants including pesticide,metal,PHA,PCB,phenols,benzenes,volatile halogenated hydrocarbon,phthalic esters;perfluorinated compounds,and mainly center on 10 kinds of pollutants such as DDT,cadmium,lead,mercury,etc.Considering that the precedence-controlled pollutants above own strong environmental persistence,the monitoring and evaluation shall be strengthened for the pollutants in the channel dredging process.

      Abstract:Wave distribution characteristics of the southeast coastal area of Guangxi are discussed based on the analysis of one year’s observed wave data from Guangxi Beihai offshore sea area.The results show that the annual average H1/10 is 0.6 m regardless of direction,and the most frequently occurring direction is WSW with a corresponding frequency of 15.48%;during observation period,Hmax is 8.23 m with a ESE direction and a corresponding H1/10 of 6.26 m that was recorded during the typhoon 201409 Rammasun;the joint distribution of wave height and period of the area is similar to oblique triangle distribution.Using the least squares regression analysis method,we establish the correlation between each characteristic wave height and mean wave height of the research sea area.

      Abstract:Based on the Xiesha shoal in Quanzhou bay,it is proposed to construct cofferdams in the west,north and east of Xiesha shoal and a quay wall in the south of Xiesha shoal.The closed region,surrounded by the cofferdam and the quay wall,is backfilled by the sand dredged from front waters.Thus the cofferdam,the quay wall and the backfilled sand form the Xiutu artificial island.This paper analyzes the general design and key technologies related to the design of the Xiutu island,which contains the plane layout,plane arrangement,phased implementation plan,cofferdam structure,wharf structure,land formation and other major aspects related to the design of the artificial island.This study will provide reference for similar projects.

    • Application of IES test method in detection of concrete defects existing in port structure

      Abstract:Through model test and engineering application,the paper studied the application technology of IES test method in the detection of concrete defects existing in the port structure.It studied the influences of parameter setting,operation steps,defect size,defect depth,and columnar components in this method on the stress response through model test and got the following conclusions:1)The defect judging method is mainly based on the deviation of main frequency and supplemented by that the frequency-domain curve appears secondary peak;the threshold value can be fixed as 5%.2)Defect size is positively correlated with the deviation of main frequency;defect depth has a threshold value;shallow depth produces small influence on the deviation of main frequency, and when the depth exceeds the threshold value,the defect depth is in direct proportion to the deviation of main frequency.3)As the effective detecting depth of IES system shall be less than 1 m,so it doesn’t apply to the columnar member.On this basis,this method was applied in the detection of precast concrete unit at a high-pile wharf.The defect inside the concrete could be recognized intuitionally and quickly by detecting the thickness cloud picture.

      Abstract:Combining with practical engineering,the paper introduced the application characteristics of the front sheet-pile and offside-low pile platform,and analyzed the technical points and considerations in the actual design.The front sheet-pile and offside-low pile platform structure is complex,and the original specifications are not completely applicable.Combining with practical engineering,and considering the factors such as the unloading of low pile platform and that the deflection of steel sheet pile cannot be completely restored,it conducted the three-dimensional numerical simulation to get the internal force of the main components in the wharf structure,and analyzed the influence of these factors on the structure from the aspects such as the connection mode between pile foundation and bearing platform,which provides the basis for structural design and optimization.

      Abstract:The harbor land area formed by backfilling hill stones(broken bits)is served as the earth base under the pavement of roads and storage yards after dynamic compaction and vibration rolling. At present,the generally adopted rebound modulus is 60 MPa,and on the earth base,the gravel sub-base which is about 200 mm thick is set.Through the engineering project finished in Dalian port to inversely calculate the rebound modulus of earth base,it is considered that the rebound modulus of earth base adopted under the concrete pavement is too low and can be largely improved.According to relevant regulations of the specification,it is not necessary to set sub-base.

      Abstract:This article researches the wave dynamic effect on back silting in the deep-water channel at north passage in the mouth bars of the Yangtze estuary.The results indicate that:1)There is a close relation between the fluid mud in the deep-water channel at north passage and the wave in the mouth bars.The amount of fluid mud has positive correlation with the wave energy,the more wave energy,the larger amount of fluid mud;the longer the wave period,the longer the duration time.2)Large amount of fine sediment will be dialyzed from the riverbed under the strong waves,which are the main part of fluid mud in the channel.3)The variation of back silting in the deep-water channel shows a good agreement with the wave evolution in macroscopic and microscopic scale.4)After the strong waves caused by typhoon,effects on the bed don’t end right the moment and will last a period of time.

      Abstract:The paper investigated the stability of the implemented deep-channel bottom protection project,and put forward the idea of optimizing the edge-protecting structures at the terminal end of the bottom protection zone work in deep channel based on the analysis on destruction causes.Further,taking Qixingtai deep-channel bottom protection zone at the Jiangkou waterway in the mid reach of the Yangtze River as an example,it carried out flume experiments and studies on the edge-protecting structure at the end of bottom protection zone in deep channel and finally raised combined measures of setting rock riprap plus flexible materials and permeable frames at the edge of bottom protection zone in deep channel.

      Abstract:No.3 and No.4 line ship locks at Changzhou adopt the oversize plane valves,with the dimension of 4.6 m×6.0 m, which is far above the level both at home and abroad with outstanding air-defense and anti-vibration performance which used to be a key technical problem of ship lock’s construction.Through the prototype measurement,it verified the effect of vibration resisting and cavitation suppressing measure put forward in the model research,and obtained satisfactory commissioning results which can be referred for the similar projects.

      Abstract:In view of the bank slope seepage failure in Jinjiang river reach,we analyze the reasons for the failure based on a practical case and find out the main influential factors for the failure,i.e.geologic factor,hydrologic factor and meteorological factor.The geological condition of Jingjiang reach includes single sandy soil structure,upper layer clay and lower layer sand,as well as interlayer and cross layer which consists of sand and clay.The supply relationship between groundwater and river water was complex.River water supplies groundwater in the flood season,and groundwater supplies river water in the dry season.After the impoundment of the Three Gorges reservoir,water level dropping speed was accelerated,and the seepage gradient between groundwater and river water was increased.The occurrence frequency of heavy precipitation weather is still high,and its range keeps still large.Finally,the bank slope seepage failure mechanism of Jingjiang beach is revealed

      Abstract:In view of the lack of navigation capacity of the upstream channel opening of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge,it is necessary to improve the navigation environment and guarantee the safe operation of the bridge and ship by making full use of the bridge navigable bridge opening and increasing the navigable upstream opening hole.According to the natural channel conditions of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge section,and based on the bed evolution and flow conditions in different years,we propose the scheme and probe into the feasibility of opening the bridge upstream channel at the 5th opening hole.The results show that the 5th hole of the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge has the same span as the current navigable hole,and the bridge section is characterized by the deep and wide channel,so it bears the basic condition for opening the navigable hole.It is suggested to just open the 5th hole as the upstream navigable hole,and in the future it can be adjusted according to the vessel traffic situation.

      Abstract:Based on Guigang second-lane ship lock,we establish a 130 physical scale model to study chamber’s flow conditions and vessel berthing conditions in different energy dissipater layout patterns.The result reveals that,in bottom still 0.9 m high and permeable water stoma 0.4 m high layout pattern,chamber water flow was uniform,we didn’t observe obvious transverse surface slope and partial turbulent,vessel berthing conditions were well,also for future research under the same type of lock head outlet water dynamics of the foundation.

      Abstract:The Xiajiang hydro-junction project is featured with bad rock integrity and weak anti-scouring ability,so protective engineering measures shall be taken.Analyzing the No.11 sluice-pier,we know that the anti-sliding stability of No.11 sluice-pier cannot meet the requirements of relevant specification.Adopting the nonlinear numerical method,we check the safety factor of deep-layer anti-sliding stability of No.11 sluice-pier and conduct the nonlinear finite element analysis of it by SAPTIS.According to the analysis results,we propose two schemes,i.e.,thickening the bottom slab and arranging systematic anchor piles,both of which can meet the requirements of anti-sliding stability.

      Abstract:In low water head outlet constructions,energy dissipation is a common hydraulic problem,which energy dissipation is less efficiency.The influencing factors about hydraulic characteristics and energy dissipation mechanism are very complicated,and there are no mature theories or methods to solve the problem.The thesis regards the characteristics of the low water head and large discharge per unit width of the navigation power junction on the Qingshui river as the research objects.By the hydraulic section model made in lab,the energy dissipated mechanism of the outlet constructions are discussed at first.It is proven the research results not only settle a necessary ground for the layout plan of Pingzhai navigation power junction sluice,but also be helpful for other similar projects.

      Abstract:Based on the related data about the door at the access hole of gate chamber of the cross pulling gate for one long-span and deep-water navigation lock,this paper designs a new fish-bellied truss type of stop-log gate,and verifies its strength and rigidity through ANSYS,a finite element software.Furthermore,through the comparison between the design scheme of the new-type stop-log gate and the design scheme of the traditional solid-web stop-log gate,the results shows the economical efficiency and engineering practicability of the new-type stop-log gate.

      Abstract:Based on the Winkler footing beam model and the theory of finite element method,a calculation method to solve the displacement and bending moment of partially embedded lateral load-bearing pile under complex lateral loading was proposed.The validity of the proposed method was verified by comparing the calculation results in proposed method with the results of classic calculation example and the field experimental results.Finally,through the analysis on the calculation example,this paper analyzed the influence of the scouring action of current and the constraint conditions at the pile head on the displacement and bending moment of the partially embedded pile body.The analysis results show that the constraint conditions at the pile head should be considered when the impact of scouring on the lateral bearing capacity of pile foundation is being studied.The proposed method in this paper is effective to carry out computational analysis on partially embedded load-bearing pile under complex lateral load.

      Abstract:The vertical drainage plate is normally applied in vacuum preloading method for the treatment of blown filled mud and the volume compaction ratio can be as high as 30%~40%.However,the drainage plate has serious deformations in this approach.This leads to the fact that vacuum degree in the drainage plate significantly decreases with the increase of depth.In this study,contrast tests were conducted to investigate the application of horizontal drainage plate in vacuum preloading method.The results show that physical and mechanical properties (e.g.,settlement deformation,pore water pressure variation,water drainage amount,water content,vane shear strength,etc.) obtained by horizontal drainage plate are better performed than those by applying the vertical drainage plate.In addition,the advantages of employing horizontal drainage plate to blown filled mud treatment are analyzed.It is feasible to apply vacuum preloading method to blown filled mud with the horizontal drainage plate.

    • Stability of soil seawall suffering soil liquefaction under action of strong wave

      Abstract:Under the action of strong wind wave in the sea conditions of typhoon,storm surge and so on,soil seawall is often damaged or even broken.Considering the situation that the soil mass of seawall will be liquefied under the action of high water-level wave,Geo-slope software was used to calculate the safety factor for the overall sliding stability of seawall.The calculation result was compared with the safety factors calculated in other three conditions including high water level at calm water state,low water level with wave action,and low water level after liquefaction under wave action.The safety factors calculated in the four cases were 2.226,2.392,2.082 and 2.056 respectively.The results show that when the wave action is causing soil liquefaction,it doesn’t produce a significant influence on the overall stability of seawall, but it produces a significant influence on the stability of seawall which is at the low level of sea side;the destructions such as seawall breach under strong wind wave are not caused by the overall seawall sliding due to reduction of soil strength under wave action,and it’s specific mechanisms still need further study.

      Abstract:Based on the great number of standard penetration tests and indoor soil geotechnical test data about the pipe blocking clay in Tianjin port,this paper studied and analyzed the correlation between the standard penetration number and physico-mechanical index of pipe blocking clay by applying the mathematical statistic method.The results show that the regression coefficients in empirical formulas all are above 0.8 with higher reliability.After verification by reliability analysis,the research results provide a feasible method by calculating the physico-mechanical index of pipe blocking clay with the in-situ test index.It helps to cut down the cost for investigation of dredging engineering,provides reference for similar dredging engineering,and owns a higher practical application value.

      Abstract:Relying on the Jiuweigang second-line shiplock engineering,the thermal,mechanical and deformation properties of early-age concrete were tested;on this basis,the temperature field,stress field and the cracking risk of sidewalls in lock chamber and lock head corridor were simulated,and compared with the actual monitoring data.The results show that the cracking risk of sidewall concrete in lock chamber and lock head corridor mainly comes from the temperature difference between the surface and the environment and between the inside and outside,and constraint from slab concrete.The cracking risk of surface concrete in chamber exceeds 1.0 in very early age,and cracking risk of center concrete exceeds 0.7 after 23.5 days;cracking risk of surface concrete in left side corridor is up to 0.79,and cracking risk of center concrete exceeds 0.7 after 17 days.The simulation results of temperature and cracking time agree with the monitoring results.

      Abstract:After the 175 m trial impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir,cumulative siltation occurred in Shangluoqi reach in Three Gorges Reservoir area,with a small amount and mainly in the deep channel and beach.Since channel scale margin of Shangluoqi reach in the fluctuating period is not large,a little amount of sediment deposition can worsen the channel conditions.This paper analyzes channel condition changes of Shangluoqi reach during 2011—2012 using measured terrain data,and puts forward the maintenance dredging scheme of Shangluoqi reach in the falling stage of the Three Gorges Reservoir.
