    • Numerical calculation and influence of inflow from Huaihe river on deepwater channel regulation effect of Kou’anzhi waterway

      2016(3):1-9.

      Abstract (1077) HTML (0) PDF 3.02 M (160) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The Kou’anzhi waterway is an important part in the second phase of the regulation project of 12.5 m deep water channel from Nanjing to the mouth in the Yangtze River. The upper part belongs to braided rivers of many branches, and the lower part is straight rivers. Moreover, the upper part locates in the curved channels, into which Huaihe river flows, the flood-plain changes violently, and the channel conditions are affected by many complicated factors. The large inflow of Huaihe river is the important formation cause for the Luochengzhou shoal. Using the numerical models,we investigate the effects of the Huaihe river inflow on the deep water channel in Kou’anzhi waterway. The simulated results show that the inflow of Huaihe river causes the amplitude and range of deposition in the Sanyiqiao beach above the estuary of Huaihe river and in the designed navigation channels of 12.5 m at the left branch increasing. Under these influences, the minimum width of the isobath below 12.5 m in the designed navigation channels at the left branch of Luochengzhou is mildly greater than that without regard to the Huaihe river inflow, the channel width in the designed navigation channels, dissatisfying with 12.5 m of water depth, slightly decreases in the Gaogang beach, while the similar channel width in the lower part of the right channel of Manyusha has a slight increase from that without considering the Huaihe river inflow.

    • Application of sediment kerf in dredging construction

      2016(3):10-13.

      Abstract (963) HTML (0) PDF 1.69 M (123) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:In phase 1 dredging engineering of the 12.5 m deepwater channel of the Yangtze River below Nanjing city, the situation of the Tongzhousha channel depth is influenced by the southward movement of the right edge of Kuzigangsha tail, which directly interferes with the dredging operation within area B. Based on the study on water-sand behaviors, bed sand and tidal features and analysis of flow regime and back-silting characteristics,we preset the sediment kerf to mitigate sand flowing from edges into the inner channel. An analysis of the implementation effect of sediment kerf is presented and advices are given to the follow-up construction.

    • Impact of revetment filer layer’s permeability coefficient on wave uplift force acting on top layer

      2016(3):14-18.

      Abstract (667) HTML (0) PDF 1.29 M (123) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:In engineering applications, for the revetment engineering under the wave action, the surface layer-filer layer-subsoil design patterns are usually used for the slope protection with a filter layer structure as the cushion;but in the practical project, the cushion structure is often simplified, with the geotextiles directly laid on the sand. Based on the theoretical analysis and model test,we study the impact of the cushion structure under the wave action, and comes to the conclusion that when the top layer’s permeability coefficient is less than that of the filer layer, the uplift force acting on the top layer will be generated inside the filer layer, which may lead to the instability of top layer. The results may serve as reference for the similar engineering.

    • Applicability of overseas monitoring sensors in domestic concrete structures

      2016(3):19-22.

      Abstract (743) HTML (0) PDF 799.41 K (118) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The critical chloride ions concentration of pitting corrosion and pitting corrosion rate of domestic rebar, anode ladders sensor rebar, and ECI-2 sensor rebar are investigated by potentiodynamic polarization and liner polarization respectively. The results show that the domestic rebar and ECI-2 sensor rebar have a similar critical chloride ions concentration of pitting corrosion and different pitting corrosion rates. However, the critical chloride ions concentration of pitting corrosion and pitting corrosion rate for the anode ladders sensor rebar are different from that of domestic rebar. Therefore, the monitoring results for the two sensors should be modified when they are used in domestic engineering to monitor its durability.

    • Statistical analysis of sea waves with double-peaked spectra in Xiangshui sea area

      2016(3):23-28.

      Abstract (807) HTML (0) PDF 1.50 M (115) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The spectrum and statistical analysis are made of measured wave data with double-peaked spectra in the Xiangshui sea area. By investigating the wave heights probability distributions, the period probability distributions and the joint probability distributions of wave heights and periods of sea waves with double-peaked spectra,we know that sea waves with single-peaked spectra turn out to be not suitable for describing sea waves with double-peaked spectra. On the basis of measured wave data with double-peaked spectra in the Xiangshui sea area,we propose empirical probability distributions of wave heights and periods of sea waves with double-peaked spectra. Some spectral parameters related to the spectral width are calculated through spectrum analysis and compared with those of Goda’s field observation. Furthermore, the spectral characteristic values of sea waves with double-peaked spectra are compared with the statistical ones, and we find that there is only little difference between the significant wave height calculated by the spectrum method and the one calculated by the zero-crossing method;and the mean period calculated by spectrum period is a little bit smaller than that calculated by the zero-crossing method.

    • Influence of reclamation project on hydrodynamic and sediment environment of Lianyungang sea area

      2016(3):29-34.

      Abstract (1335) HTML (0) PDF 3.02 M (121) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Based on two dimensional nested gird tidal current and sediment numerical model,we simulate the tidal current field and distribution of suspended sediment in reclamation of Haizhou bay. The simulation fits well with the measured data. Analyzing the impact of the current field on the surrounding sea and the annual change in erosion and deposition after the project,we know that the whole calculated area tidal current and suspended filed change little. But decrease of the current velocity near the project causes reduction of the tidal prism. The deposition is presented near the project sea.The siltation intensity of the filling pit at the left is larger, and erosion is presented in part of Linghong river estuary.

      2016(3):40-45.

      Abstract (1016) HTML (0) PDF 1.97 M (109) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:To compare the effects of the arc radius of different vertical breakwater crest walls on its wave load,we carry out the physical model experiment about the three arc crest walls with the arc radius of 45 cm,67 cm and 98 cm respectively and the vertical crest wall, and obtain wave loads from the integral of the wave pressures on different measure locations of crest walls. Then,we analyze the relationship between the wave load and the relative wave height, relative wave length and the arc radius. The research results show that the wave loads increase with the increase of the relative wave height and they present the variation trend of firstly increase-then decrease-finally increase with the increase of the relative wave length. For the same wave conditions, the wave loads on the arc crest walls are bigger than those on the vertical crest wall. Among the three arc crest walls, the wave loads decrease with the increase of the arc radius and the maximum occurs on the arc crest wall with the arc radius of 45 cm.

    • Numerical simulation of twin pontoon-twin horizontal plate floating breakwater

      2016(3):46-50.

      Abstract (1416) HTML (0) PDF 1.45 M (103) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The numerical simulation model of win pontoon-twin horizontal plate floating breakwater is established by hydrodynamics simulation software ANSYSWorkbench and AQWA Graphical Supervisor. The investigation of the floating breakwater including the underwater penetration and the spacing of two pontoons and two plates shows that with the increase of the underwater penetration and the spacing of two plates the transmission coefficient decreases. When the relative spacing of two pontoons varies from 0.22 to 0.33,the transmission coefficients turn smaller. The natural period of the twin pontoon-twin horizontal plate floating breakwater is about 4.8~5.3 s. In the design,we should pay attention to avoid producing resonance when the natural period of floating breakwater and the wave period are close. The research will provide a theoretical basis for the breakwater design.

      Abstract (1029) HTML (0) PDF 1.13 M (103) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Protective structures utilized in the river regulation and channel regulation works are generally divided into solid structures and permeable structures. The permeable structures with large porosity can dissipate the flow energy and control erosion effectively,so they are used widely.Taking the tetrahedron-like penetrating frame and vegetation for example,we summarize the research on the behavior of water flow and sediment affected by permeable structures, discuss the limitation of current research, and give some ideas for the future studies.Research findings show that unlike the solid structures, permeable structures dissipate the flow energy mildly, and its resistance characteristic is correlated with the submerged depth and the pore structure, the flow turbulence caused by permeable structures has anisotropic property, and the structures make the mass exchange possible which is conductive to the habitat diversification.

Abstract:To counter the phenomenon of particle aggregation in the process of vacuum preloading treatment in the process of ultra-soft soil,a new type of water absorption, reciprocating water absorption,is put forward to be applied in vacuum preloading reinforcing the ultra-soft soil. With different vacuum degrees of the adjacent vertical drainages (PVD) at the same time,we realize the asynchronous vacuum water absorption of the ultra-soft soil.It is found through the model experiment that the drainage capacity of reciprocating water absorption is 1.1 times of that of regular water absorption. The analysis of mechanism of reciprocating water absorption vacuum reloading method reveals that this method can prevent fine particles from excessive migration and contribute to the consolidation of ultra-soft soil drainage.
