Abstract:The Middle-East EPC projects have the features of high integration of engineering,procurement & construction,strict contract concept,many engineering change orders and complicated engineering submission procedure,which is not only a great challenge to the domestic engineering enterprises but also a good opportunity for capability improvement and rapid internationalization.We briefly state the concept of EPC project,propose that the engineering should play a leading role and create value in EPC projects,discuss in detail the core and management control in all-lifecycle engineering,such as preparation,project bidding,project planning,project engineering,engineering submission and construction coordination,and explain it through a typical project case in the Middle-East,which hopefully would be the reference for future international EPC project engineering.

Abstract:The lack of actual measruement data of wind and ocean surface wave can seriously affect the quality and schedule of harbor development with the expansion of harbor construction to open water.Through the investigation and research on the data,observations,and models about meteorology and oceanography,based on observations and reanalysis data,integrating the mesoscale meteorological model,WRF,and the 3rd generation ocean wave model,WaveWatchⅢ(WWⅢ),a wind and ocean wave hindcast and simulation system comes into reality.It utilizes BS architecture and browser as human-computer interface.The models run in a mass parallel computer cluster,named calculation server,with LINUX and MPI as software environment.The model controlling from WWW server is implemented through a web service program which runs in calculation server,receiving instructions from WWW server and then run appropriate model accordingly.Large number of model instances are organized by firstly categorized as WRF and WWⅢ,and then graded into user,projection,model,type and application.This system can hindcast and simulate the wind field in any domain and simulate the ocean surface wave field in any ocean domain.The application of this system shows that this method and system can simulate the typhoon and its wave field correctly.

Abstract:The LNG fuelled ship,with its environmental-friendliness,energy saving and other advantages,has attracted attentions of more and more countries and shipping companies.In view of problems of the LNG fuelled ship in policies and regulations,LNG fuel supply and bunkering technology,we summarize the development trend of fuel bunkering technology of LNG fuelled ship at home and abroad.Based on the analysis of the bunkering methods for the LNG fuelled ship and the scale of the bunkering station,we propose suggestions and measures on development of the LNG fuelled ship’s application in China.

Abstract:There are two main reasons which make the serious mudding and pollution in Nantaiwu beach.Firstly,in front of Nantaiwu beach water area,the wave is small and the trend is weak;secondly,Jiulong river and coastal land sewage water have a direct and great impact on the beach.Facing with complex external boundary conditions,this study integrates coastal dynamics,ecology,environmental science and other disciplines,considering the needs of urban sewage drainage and landscaping,then analyzes the current situation and mechanism of mudding.From technical,economic and ecological views,this study demonstrates the feasibility of regulation scheme,and innovatively applies siltation reducing shield into engineering design.

Abstract:Compared with the coastal port,vessel mooring operation in inland harbor is influenced more obviously by current.Due to the geographical environment,the current flow always occurs in the inland harbor.Vessel motion is introduced as the controlling conditions to meet the requirements of ship’s mooring operation.Then,based on the mooring simulation,various limiting conditions are analyzed,especially the limited current conditions.The limiting conditions of wave,wind speed and current under vessel motion are not mentioned in norms when the vessel moors at berth.The research results may provide theoretical reference for relevant vessel berthing operations in inland harbor.

Abstract:For all-steel tubular frame mooring structure of large offshore oil wharf,the calculated fatigue life using calculated mooring load will be short and be deviated from the actual situation.Currently there are fewer researches on the analysis of the measured mooring load,and they are disorder.This paper analyzes actual measuring mooring load of 300 000 DWT crude oil wharf expansion project in Ri-zhao port Lan-shan harbor,and finds out the probability law of distribution for mooring load and analyzes the fatigue damage of the tubular nodes.The analysis results show that the worst fatigue damage nodes are middle tube nodes,and mooring load has little influence on fatigue damage to all-steel tubular mooring pier,only 10-4 orders of magnitude.

Abstract:Large-scale oil wharves usually adopt the layout of butterfly.Generally,the critical loading relating to the overall structure stability is the wave loading.Typically,the maximum wave height and its corresponding wave period or the maximum wave period and its corresponding wave height are chosen are the design wave parameters.However,it is indicated by calculations that those are not necessarily the critical condition regarding the wave parameters.By reference to the numerical analysis result of the factor of pile group,this paper studies the change of wave loading on small-scale pier column structure with different wave heights and wave periods,and also studies the general pattern of the overall stability of separate caisson dolphin structures.

Abstract:Based on the practical sea wharf structures upgrading and reforming cases,this paper classifies wharf structures into two categories depending on whether the wharf apron is advancing or not.In condition of fixing wharf apron,we present three practical reforming cases:reform of rubble bed,addition of independent structure ahead of foundation and addition of accessory structures.In condition of advancing wharf apron,two cases are presented:newly constructed structure combined with old structure or newly constructed structure independent to the old one.For the open type wharf on piles with fixed wharf apron,the cases of separated structure and combined structure are presented.

Abstract:The service of pile-supported wharf will be influenced by sediment deposition.In order to study the influence law of sediment deposition on piles,the following works are finished:the structures and soils are modeled by three-dimensional solid elements,contact elements are set up to consider interaction of piles and soils,the birth and death of elements are used to model the sediment deposition,and geotechnical parameters are calibrated by measured displacements.The result shows that the maximum bending moment will appear at the top of pile under additional earth pressure by sediment deposition,and the most of piles are in tension at the landside section while the worst section is at the top of piles which towards the sea.The stress condition of piles will be obviously improved and the influence of deposition will be reduced after excavating sediment.

Abstract:There are many factors which decrease the throughput of the ship loading system in large coal terminal,especially in the case of continuous layout berths.The influence factors such as deballasting delays,system capacity and changing hatches,etc.are analyzed deeply and the relevant solutions are proposed.Then the reasonable matching of waiting and working berths is recommended in continuous layout berths of coal ship-loading terminal.Combined with the Huang-Hua port project and the research result,optimal layout plan of terminal has been put forward.

Abstract:The elevation of wharf surface must be determined as to avoid water runup,to ensure the safety of structure and convenience of terminal operation,as well as to save the project investment.Regarding the vagueness of calculation method,specified in the code,which determines the elevation of wharf surface with remarkable water runup caused by storm surge,a specific calculation method is proposed,based on a concrete projects with domestic and foreign codes and model tests.This method comprehensively analyzes the principle of the calculation of wharf elevation and the determination and evaluation of various parameters.It comes up with a feasible calculation method in the case of obvious water setup,in order to determine the elevation of wharf appropriately.

Abstract:In Lanshan port area of Rizhao port,four 300 000 DWT crude oil wharves are arranged successively along one line. For all large crude oil wharf groups,this kind of layout is the first try. After a decade of development and construction,two 300 000 DWT crude oil wharves have already been constructed and the third 300 000 DWT wharf(with the capacity of 450 000 DWT)is under construction.Meanwhile,the fourth one is in the stage of feasibility study. During the construction much experience has been accumulated and applied to optimize the length,the layout of breasting and mooring dolphins,the structure and the style of connection to bridge approach of subsequent wharves.The article presents the progress and principles of optimization and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of successive layout of wharves,in order to provide a reference for the design of similar projects.

Abstract:To meet the requirement of all-weather operation for 90% vessels in ro-ro wharf of Ningbo Meishan port,the elevation of wharf and approach jetty is low.Because of the large wave in the engineering area,the master load of the jetty turns to be the wave load instead of the vehicles load.To resist the uplifting,down-falling and horizontal thrusting forces from the wave,the design adopts the bi-directional-loaded prestressed girder,the front-weak & back-strong pile bents and wave load transmitting device to realize the design of pile-girder type approach jetty with low top-elevation and large wave.All indices meet the requirement of the standards.The design method and experience are summarized.

Abstract:Compared with the conventional caisson pier structure,a new type caisson with flange slab can effectively improve the wave reflection,decrease earth pressure behind the wall,and reduce the engineering investment.There are some practical engineering cases in comb-type breakwater while the caisson with flange slab is rarely used in vertical pier structure which has backfill in the rear.This paper introduces the application of caisson with flange slab in Dalian Songmu island general cargo pier,analyzes the effect of wave and wall backfill on comb-type pier structure,and studies the selection of flange slab caisson scale.

Abstract:The semi-circular structures were used as part of the dam body of Baimaosha waterway regulation engineering of the Yangtze River deepwater channel phase I project.According to the actual working conditions,this paper analyzed and compared different options of dike structure types,and recommended the semi-circular structures as a selection scheme.Based on this,the force and construction of semi-circular structures were further analyzed and the results were shown and verified by practice.The practical application showed that the structures owned the feature of excellent stability,and well achieved the functional requirements of the engineering.

Abstract:Most of the rivers in the upper Yangtze River have high water head,rapid flow,large variation of water level.Serving as a navigation structure,ship lift cannot satisfy great traffic volume and lateral displacement limitation of tower column under earthquake,while traditional multistage ship lock has to deal with a series of problems:huge water consumption,poor flow regime in lower lock approach,etc.Water saving ship lock can effectively solve the problems above,however not enough experience has been gained domestically.Based on the water-saving ship lock scheme of the new channel of Three Gorges project,from the perspective of working principle of water-saving ship lock,this article sdudies structure selection,layout of water basins,structure elevation and scale are discussed in detail.Structure stability,conveyance efficiency of the scheme are analyzed,and superiority comparison to cascade ship lock scheme is expounded.

Abstract:When we determine the lock capacity,the transportation demand and the vessel development need to be taken into consideration to avoid ship lock becoming a bottleneck of the development of waterway transportation.After analyzing and predicting the increase of the throughput of Tai’erzhuang lock,the current status and the tendency of vessel dimensions,three main indicators of a lock of the design target year are acquired by computer simulation method,which are the average total tonnages of passing vessels per lockage,average number of passing vessels per lockage and occupancy rate of chamber.Those indicators can be used for calculating the capacities of the planned Tai’erzhuang third-lane lock under different chamber dimensions,and checking the capacity of the running lock at Tai’erzhuang.In the end,the reasonable or suitable chamber dimensions from different options are chosen according to the simulation results and considering conditions such as predicted throughput of lock,vessel development and water-saving when lock operating.
