Abstract:The research on the modernization index system of the Yangtze River waterway not only conforms to the developing trend of the world’s inland waterway,but also adapts to the actual demand of the regional economic growth and the development of the Yangtze River water transport.On the basis of analyzing the elements of the modernization of the Yangtze River waterway and its influential factors,this paper confirms the first grade index system of shipping modernization based on the eight indicators,i.e.,smoothness,high efficiency,safety,ecology,science and technology,rule,culture,social satisfaction.Through the quantitative analysis of the index system,some suggestions are put forward for the development of the Yangtze River waterway.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the situation and development trend of the inland water transport,in view of basic problems in the development of the digital & intelligent inland waterway,such as the lack of effective mechanism,the evaluation index,we make clear the concept and development orientation of inland digital waterway,points out the effectiveness targets of the current stage,analyze the effect mechanism of inland digital waterway from the technical progress,mechanism,system development and pattern change,outline the general evaluation method of transportation informatization,establish the effectiveness evaluation index of inland digital waterway from 4 abilities in waterway condition dynamic monitoring,data resource,business organization and business application,and establish the evaluation index of inland digital waterway based on the performance evaluation of the construction and operation of Changjiang waterway.All these would help deepen and optimize the development of inland digital waterway,and thus promote to build an open,efficient,safe and green inland transportation system.

Abstract:Based on the study of the metadata standard about related areas at home and abroad,we divide the data resource of the elements of the Yangtze waterway into 7 categories,38 small classes,with a comprehensive consideration of the waterway monitoring and data collection and the need of maintenance decisions and information service of waterway.We then establish the content framework of the metadata of the data resource of the Yangtze waterway’s elements,which includes nine aspects,such as identification information,limited information,data quality,data maintenance information,spatial information,frame of reference information,main content information,coverage information,distribution information,all of which are expressed by the object-oriented method.The core metadata is also shown.All will help promote the standardization of data resources of the elements of the Yangtze waterway and provide a technical support for highly efficient sharing.

Abstract:In view of the high-precision positioning technology for the navigation mark,channel topography,obstruction and other typical elements of the channel,and combining with popularization and application of Beidou foundation enhancement system,we integrate SPP,RTK,DGNSS,PPP and other high-precision positioning technology to study the positioning accuracy of typical channel elements in the Yangtze River channel and put forward integrated technical scheme for navigation and positioning of the Yangtze River for the first time.Taking the advanced nature,operability,adaptability of related positioning techniques into account,we carry out the experimental research in the Yangtze River channel and develop the application program to solve problems of positioning technology of navigational aids,mobile information collection facilities,ships,etc.,to improve the reliability of information perception channel elements,and avoid mistakes or occurrence of not meeting the application requirements due to insufficient positioning accuracy,so to enhance the channel maintenance management and integrated services comprehensively.

Abstract:With the deepening of digital waterway construction in the Yangtze River,the electronic channel charts covering the Yangtze River channel have formally external application.It put forward the new requirements on the exchange standard and the communication protocol of waterway data in the Yangtze River.This paper made the planning strategy for the Yangtze River waterway data resources,analyzed the actual demand of the Yangtze River channel information network and designed the corresponding of the Yangtze River waterway data exchange model and communication protocol.In the end,on the basis of the work mentioned above,a test platform for data exchange and communication protocol was developed.It realized some key functions such as real-time data monitoring,terminal protocol analysis and so on.

Abstract:The Yangtze River waterway elements perceptual system is an important part of intelligent waterway.The scientific and reasonable layout of waterway elements perceptual devices is of great importance for safe navigation and effective utilization of waterway resources.Based on the analysis of the Yangtze River waterway’s characteristics,this paper analyzes the influence factors of the layout of waterway elements perceptual devices.The layout evaluation model is built with Analytic Hierarchy Process,and the Yangtze River waterway elements perceptual devices layout regulations are conducted.The Yangtze River waterway elements perceptual devices layout technology would provide guidance for more efficient utilization of waterway elements perceptual devices and waterway utilization,thus the Yangtze River waterway elements perceptual devices layout plan could be optimized and waterway navigation capacity could be improved.

Abstract:A image based visibility monitoring system for the Yangtze River in mountainous area is designed,including data acquisition module,learning module,visibility calculation module and alarm and communication module.The algorithm of information acquisition and visibility estimation based on image is realized,and the fusion algorithm based on multi sensors is realized by combining the D-S evidence theory.The alarm unit can monitor the dynamic changes of visibility according to the rules.The system has been implemented and validated.

Abstract:With the broad application of electronic navigational chart (ENC) in inland shipping,the problem of updating of the waterway element data turns more prominent.Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign ENC data update technology,this paper researches the update method for the Changjiang ENC bathymetric elements,navigation elements and other elements,and the data processing algorithm involved in the update process.It also builds all kinds of factors of waterway element updating model.At last,the paper concludes the dynamic update scheme based on the Changjiang ENC production system platform.

Abstract:With the aid of CJENC system,we explore the dynamic calculation mathematical models and algorithms of the navigable waters,by which,we can calculate and update the navigable water scope and its dynamic centerline according to the user’s specific demand on the water depth and combining with the real-time or predictive water levels,so as to assist the ship’s pilotsto to confirm the navigable waters and select reasonable routes.The key points of the study are the selections of appropriate dynamic interpolation algorithm of depth data,TIN model generation algorithm,depth contour tracking algorithm,depth contour smoothing algorithm,etc.With the secondary development functions and various spatial analysis tools of ArcGIS,we finally implement the dynamic calculation toolset of navigable waters in CJENC.

Abstract:Changjiang electronic navigation chart (CJENC) validation checks standard (CJ-58) is compiled based on the IHO S-58 and Changjiang valley characteristics,which sets rules for the new added features and attributes of the CJENC.However,the CJ-58 is still not complete and verified.This paper designs detailed CJENC validation rules based on the analysis of the new added features and attributes and takes advantages of the ArcGIS Data Reviewer module to implement them.The result shows that the validation rules and verifying method in this research conforms to the data control standard of CJENC and can improve the productivity of the CJENC effectively.

Abstract:The water depth is the most important indicator of waterway dimensions to characterize the navigation condition of waterway,waterway maintenance decision-making,navigation guidance of ships,etc.To fit the demand of dynamic monitoring to the condition and information service of waterway,we propose the technology solution using the dynamic water-deep data resource from navigating commercial ships based on Changjiang ENCs,including the water-depth dada access,transmission,storage,processing,visualization ,application,etc,which are collected by navigating commercial ships,and based on the analysis of current water-depth data collecting methods of inland waterway and by fully using the functions of the Changjiang ENCs terminal system for ships.Furthermore,we put forward suggestions to help implementing the technology solution.By this scheme,we can improve the monitoring ability for the waterway water-depth,expand the data resource of waterway water-depth,reduce the costs for collecting the waterway water-depth data,and improve the efficiency of waterway water-depth information service.

Abstract:Lots of beach protection measures have been taken in the middle and lower Yangtze River such as fish-born dikes,soft mattresses,mesh pads and Tetrahedron-like penetrating frames.The deformation mechanism of these structures are analyzed on the basis of existing research results.The effect of these structures applied to Anqing waterway project is analyzed and the adaptability of the beach structures is concluded,which may serve as reference for similar projects.

Abstract:The Chuanjiang river is well known for many waterways,rapids and hazardous regions.There are many types of pebble beaches in this reach,the formation mechanism of which are complex.The beaches are restricted by each other and waterway regulation is difficult.Based on the analysis of the channel planform of the eight gravel beach groups in the upper Yangtze River and linkage characteristics represented by Doulizi-Dongxikou and Shenbeizui-Chayuqi gravel beach groups.The gravel beach groups generally locate in the continuous sharp curve and the branched reach with short connection at the deep groove and great change of width.Regulation of the downstream rapids leads to reduction of water stage and increase of gradient of the upper rapids,and thus worsen the channel condition of the upper rapids.The regulation of the upper rapids changes the water and sediment conditions and influence the bed evolution of the downstream rapids.The regulation to the gravel beach group shall be planned and designed integratedly and implemented all in one time.

Abstract:Hujiatan beach becomes the upper reach of the fluctuating backwater area after the Three Gorges reservoir’s running with 175 m water level,and the period of river bed evolution changes a lot and becomes shorter.During study of the regulation engineering scheme,the 2.5 m and 3 m spur dike head levels are demonstrated in order to take full advantage of the scouring ability of different flow.A new stepped dam of 2.5 m and 3 m head level is the recommended.The physical model test results show that the new dredged channel can be maintained and keep reasonable indicators on the beach after the program is implemented.

Abstract:Sanjiaoqi beach group in Chongqing is with complex external environments and presence of dual characters of mountainous river and reservoir.It is also characterized with complex beach features and faces serious navigation-obstructing problem.Based on the analysis of the river bed evolution laws and navigation-obstructing characteristics,we present the regulation thought.Combining with the model testing methods,we carry out multiple-scheme comparison and optimization,and select the scheme 1,fish-bone dike,as the final regulation scheme,which is characterized by reasonable layout and less cost.

Abstract:As a kind of new survey equipment with high detection accuracy and rich data information,laser radar is gradually applied to the information monitoring field about inland river shoreline.Because the length of shoreline is greater than the measuring range of the laser radar,it is necessary to continue scanning different locations and get the complete shoreline outline.To solve the registration problem of multi-location point cloud data caused by continuous scanning,this paper implements the ICP (Iterative Closet Point) registration algorithm based on the KD-Tree data structure.The proposed algorithm not only concentrates multi-location of point cloud data on a unified coordinate system,but also reduces effectively the data search scope of ICP registration algorithm and improves the accuracy of registration.The results of field tests show that the algorithm can reduce effectively the registration time and achieve corresponding registration accuracy.On the whole,the algorithm implements good processing results of point cloud registration.

Abstract:To prevent the inland river navigation ships exceed the specified draft limits,a real-time active detection of dynamic ship draft is necessary.We propose an inland river ships draft detection system based on multi-beam echo sounder.Based on sonar ranging technology,and design the framework of detection system,the software architecture and the communication protocols of multi-beam echo sounder system.Data filtering is adopted to remove abnormal data.As a result,the system displays clear and accurate ship draft outlines,real-time ship draft.The feasibility for inland river ships draft monitor and control is verified.

Abstract:To realize vessel’s accurate positioning and its real-time sailing monitoring,we can not only monitor and control timely ships’ safe operation,but also are able to help determining the accident responsibility by track playback and provide safe navigation and collision avoidance service for the vessel itself.The characteristics of the data for BDS and GPS location information in mountainous waterway are analyzed,and features such as the speed and direction of the vessel are extracted.A complete set of information fusion scheme algorithm is proposed to correct some error data of GPS or BDS.The experiments show that a reliable data source of navigation in the inland mountainous waterway can be ensured by the methods proposed for safety supervision.

Abstract:The inland traditional measuring vessel is restricted by manpower,material resources,time and draft,etc.,and it leads to the channel information timeliness and the measurement can’t be conducted in the shallow area.So,we design a channel measuring system based on unmanned vessel for the inland,which carries digital sounding device,RTK,GPS,acoustic doppler velocity profiler (ADCP),to realize the measurement of the depth and flow velocity of channel,and transfer measuring data to the measuring center using the wireless communication net.The application of the unmanned vessel for inland river channel measurement is an important attempt for the inland river channel measurement.
