Abstract:In order to fully find out water-physical characteristics of hard clay and improve the accuracy of geotechnical design in the west coast of Africa, water-physical properties of hard clay in the west coast of Cameroon are analyzed according to the results of surface geological survey, drilling, in-situ test and laboratory test, focusing specially on properties of swelling and shrinkage, collapse and softening. In hard clay, the analysis demonstrates that there is no swelling and shrinkage, slightly to non collapse, strong softening based on the status of unloading and facing water under multiple directions and unsoftening based on the status of surface unloading and facing water. The hard clay can be the bearing stratum of shallow foundation directly. According to the research, primarily waterphysical characteristics of hard clay are established in the west coast of Africa, reference data on the geotechnical design of hard clay are formed.

Abstract:In the regions where electricity supply capability is insufficient or power grid is unstable, ports need to be powered by the port’s self-powered station. According to the scale of port’s electricity consumption, we generally use diesel generators as the self-contained power. It is critical for the normal operation of the port in these regions to determine the generator capacity accurately. Based on the analysis of electrical equipments in the port, and combining with the definitions of the power ratings in relevant standards, we propose a method to determine the capacity of the diesel generator in the port.

Abstract:The port contribution to regional economy is studied in view of the economic and social development as well as resource utilization in line with the international practice on theoretical methods, calculation models and indicators. Firstly, the port-centered economic activities are widely investigated and prudently identified. Subsequently, the evaluation index system of port economic contribution is established. And then, an optimized calculation method is explored, which integrates the input-output model applied internationally with the particular condition in China. Thus, it is probable to acquire a comparatively scientific, comprehensive and objective evaluation of the port contribution to the city and the region.

Abstract:This paper presents a new drawing design system, which is the integration of two and three dimension, HIDAS three-dimensional intelligent drawing system. The paper introduces the framework of the drawing system, and describes system management functions, including the integration of two and three dimension data management, three-dimensional operation mode management, sub-graph object management, drawing data update management, graph tagging management. Drawing system uses the plotting way, which is the combination of threedimensional model and two-dimensional graphs. Sub-graph is obtained by operating the model, which leads to the data association of the model and the graphs, and they establish internal correspondence. The paper also describes the auto-update mechanism of drawing, when the model changes, the update data passes from the model to the drawings, and the sub-graph, graph tagging, charts and other information will automatically update.
