      Abstract:Based on linear potential theory and matched eigenfunction expansion method,this study develops an analytical solution for oblique wave interaction with a perforated caisson breakwater with an inner horizontal porous plate,which is confirmed by comparing with a multi-domain boundary element method solution.Numerical examples are given to examine the effects of the incident wave angle and the relative wave chamber width on the reflection coefficient and wave forces.The research results may serve as reference for physical model tests and practical engineering.

      Abstract:This paper carries out a research on the wave forces of wave wall with wave boards by physical model.The research results show that the horizontal wave force and uplift pressure presence the double peak phenomena under the action of regular wave;the total horizontal wave fore and uplift pressure increase with the increase of wave height and water depth,and decrease at first and then increase along with the increase of wave smoothness.Different angles of wave walls with wave boards have nothing to do with the distribution of the wave pressures,and under the same work condition,wave forces increase with the decrease of dip angle.Hereby,we find the formulae for the horizontal wave pressure coefficient under different angles,and can give suggestions for the engineering design.

      Abstract:Based on the analysis of the hydrodynamic sediment conditions and seabed evolution in Tianjin port sea area,we use the mathematical models of wave,tidal current and sediment to study hydrodynamics and sediment problems of floating LNG terminal project.The change of tidal current field before and after the water intake and the influences of the construction of the breakwater on the flow field in front of the wharf are simulated and analyzed.At the same time,the deposition thickness in the harbor and waterway during normal years and a strong wind is given.Based on the data analysis,we can draw the conclusion that flood-releasing and waterlog-draining have no obvious effects on the sedimentation in the project area.

      Abstract:This paper studies the VTS performance in China and establishes an evaluation system based on the theory of “4E”.The performance of VTS in China is evaluated using the cloud model.The evaluation results show that VTS plays an important role in increasing traffic flow and improving the society image of maritime sector;the internal organization efficiency of VTS is significantly higher than its external supervision service efficiency;the efficiency index,effectiveness index and fairness index are better than the economic index in the evaluation results of VTS performance;and the qualitative indices have more randomness and fuzziness than quantitative indices in the application of cloud model.It concludes that the evaluation system and the cloud model are effective in the evaluation of VTS performance in China.

      Abstract:When studying incident wave propagation into a harbor basin with several entrances where the water depth is non-uniform,the traditional one-line wave generation method cannot satisfy the incident wave conditions at all entrances,which will cause obvious errors.In numerical models,a multi-line wave generation method is applied to solve the problem.In physical models,the multi-line generation method cannot be used until the wave generation line can be divided into several parts at any position and each part can be controlled individually.But the division is so difficult and expensive.In this paper,a new method named multi-model superposition is developed which is based on one-line wave generation method for one-entrance harbor basin.Wave generator upgrading is unnecessary when this method is applied.The reliability of the method is verified by a real case.

      Abstract:The seabed process of the Jiaojiangkou bay from 1931 to 2004 and its mechanism are studied by analyzing the hydrology,sediment and topography data.The results show that from 1931 to 1970,the shorelines of the Jiaojiangkou bay were advanced rapidly towards the sea,and siltation occurred widely in the Jiaojiangkou bay;After 1970,erosion was presented in the channel of the bay top,while siltation in the rest of the Jiaojiangkou bay became slight and the rest tended stabile,which mainly resulted from the reduction of incoming sediment,decrease of the shoals on both banks and effect of seawall’s converging.

      Abstract:To investigate the settlement heave characteristics of excavated materials from the basin,we design the large-scale in-situ flooded embankment test.The model with dimensions 20 m×20 m×1 m includes two different parts of fine contents (passing through 0.063 mm):one part comprising fine contents less than 20%,the other part of 35%~45%.Based on the model test result,we conclude that the swelling process can be divided into three phases,i.e.the initial rapid swelling phase,the slowly increasing phase and the stable phase.The rate of swelling varies with the flooding time in such a pattern:maximum,low,gentle.The rate for fine contents less than 20% with a higher initiative rate is faster than the fine content 35%~45% in the first phase,and the excavated fill is non-sensitive to fine contents since the final heave of different fine contents are both 9.0 mm.The flooded embankment test may serve as reference for the design and engineering application of excavated fills in new Doha port.

      Abstract:An introduction to the displacement-based seismic design method of pile-supported wharf is presented,highlighting on the design ground motion,performance objectives,material properties,structural analysis model and seismic analysis methods,and some explanations for the methods are made.Based on the American codes,a case study is conducted to demonstrate the implementation of displacement-based seismic design strategy.It is apparent that displacement-based seismic design strategy fulfills the requirements of multi-seismic level and multi-performance objectives,and will be the trend of seismic design for pile-supported wharf.

      Abstract:In the process of 3D finite element calculation for a whole piled deck wharf structure,we consider to increase the horizontal force transmission by jagged joints.The calculated results indicate that comparing with the case of not considering the horizontal force transmission,the internal force of pile foundation such as bending moment,shear force,torsion,and displacement can all be reduced,which can achieve a decrease of pile size and cutting down of the project cost.

      Abstract:Taking a wharf reconstruction project in Hunan province for example,we introduce key design points of the flexible breasting clustered piles with large fluctuation.Based on the NL method,we get the variation law of the pile’s elastic factor,and analyze the horizontal force and energy distribution between piles and fender by considering the displacement compatibility and static balance.We also calculate the stress and deformation of the pile cluster,and verify the design of fender piles cluster.The results show that we should choose the fitted fender in different sections of the flexible anti-collision pile cluster,which gives play to energy-absorbing advantages of the fender.

      Abstract:Caisson lifting installation is a common construction technology for the construction of gravity wharf or upright revetment.This paper builds a 3-D model of hanging hole and lifting pin by the finite element analysis software ANSYS,sets up reasonable contact pairs and boundary conditions,and carries out a stress analysis of caisson lifting holes of a vertical revetment engineering due to the contact analysis function of ANSYS.The stress distribution in the process of lifting was obtained,and the calculation method of local pressure net area of lifting holes was proposed,which can provide a reference for similar projects.

      Abstract:A finite-element simulation is carried out for the rigid support and elastic support of rail beams under traveling mechanical load with the ANSYS software,deducing the internal forces and the reaction of supports in different calculation models.A comparative analysis is conducted for the results of different models,and the influence from the change of supports’ stiffness coefficient on the structural internal forces of rail beams is discussed.The results reveal that the uniformly distributed elastic support has a beneficial effect on the bending moment’s peak clipping over the supports’ edge,and it is also useful for reducing the mid-span bending moment.The continuous beam model with uniformly distributed elastic support is appropriate for the internal force calculation of rail beam structures.It shows that the change of supports’ stiffness coefficients has a relatively weak effect by using different pile foundations for calculation models,and a proper increase of supports’ stiffness coefficient is good for the structural safety.

      Abstract:When detecting the integrity of pile foundation,we usually take the low strain dynamic test.But for the high pile wharf in service,we need to cut pile for setting excitation and sensor.Using the finite element software ANSYS,and taking single straight pile as the research object,we study the pile body stress caused by injury of pile based on the comparison of intact pile and injured pile.Calculation results show that the cutting pile has little impact on the displacement of pile.But it leads to the stress concentration,while the most unfavorable section transforms from pile bottom to the cut areas,causing potential safety hazard.The influence of the stress concentration caused by different horizontal forces and the influence of the preloading stress on the bearing capacity of pile foundation are analyzed.The scope of influence is presented and relevant suggestions are put forward.

      Abstract:Based on a wharf project in the fluctuating backwater area of Three Gorges Reservoir in Chongqing,we calculate each mooring line and anchor chain’s average daily stress-duration curve within the scope of the whole fatigue life period under the four kinds of random process.Based on the Miner linear cumulative damage law,and combining with the T-N curve of each mooring rope and anchor chain,we get the cumulative fatigue damage of every one,and predict the fatigue life.The fatigue analysis method can not only provide a technical support for the safety hidden dangers’ rectification of pontoon mooring facilities in the fluctuating backwater area of Three Gorges Reservoir,but also provide valuable reference for the fatigue design and evaluation of similar projects.

      Abstract:Technology of Geographic Information System (GIS) is used to segment port hinterland for the first time.To eliminate the influence of subjective factors and also considering randomness of shippers’ choices for ports,a density model is developed based on improved Huff model to measure the attraction of port by introducing the concept of grid in GIS.GIS software is first applied to figure out the model.Then,port of Dalian and port of Yingkou in northeast China are taken as a case to analyze the model by segmenting hinterland of the two ports respectively.The results are in accordance with actual situation basically,which indicates that the density model based on GIS is practically significant.

      Abstract:The wave overtopping of vertical revetment with arc crown wall is reduced compared with the crown wall without arc,and the elevation of crown wall can be reduced too.Taking the design of the elevation of a vertical revetment’s crown wall as an example,the author calculates the elevation of crown wall in accordance with the current related specifications,and calculates also the wave overtopping according to the experiential formula proposed in some literatures.For the most economical and reasonable elevation of the crown wall,the wave overtopping is validated by physical model test,the measured wave overtopping by physical model test and the calculated wave overtopping according to the experiential formula are compared,and the elevation of the arc crown wall is determined ultimately.

      Abstract:The reinforced concrete of gravity pier is the main body of seaport pier,the corrosion to which is serious because of its special construction,thus there is an urgent need of exploring the anti-corrosion and coating repair technology.Taking the coal pier in Rizhao port as a study case,we explore the detection & repairing technology and corresponding implementation measures for the gravity pier in Rizhao port.With proper anti-corrosive coating and by corresponding implementation measures,the coating’s adhesion reaches about 5.0 MPamm2,and the protective quality of air permeability and sorptivity are quite good.Therefore the coating system has obvious effect of corrosion-prevention to the concrete structure.

      Abstract:Ship lock reconstruction project on the Fuchunjiang River is the first project of high-grade and large-scale ship lock renovated from the old lock on the lower course of the existing and running power station hub.Because the hub reservoir’s capacity is small,we can’t adjust the flood dispatching in combination of the lock construction.Besides,the cofferdam is close to the hub sluice,so the construction will occupy a certain part (in width) of the river,and thus have an impact on the flood discharge and flood control and the strong impact of the flood discharge will threaten the cofferdam and foundation pit,so we need to focus on the research of construction diversion and cofferdam scheme.Based on the comparison of 3 different cofferdam layouts and structural types,we recommend to adopt the overflow earth and rock cofferdam style,which is characterized with easy construction and moderate investment,and can meet the requirements of flood control and construction.

      Abstract:Navigation structures of navigation-power junction on the bended river usually face the problems of narrow river,multi-bend and short transition section.Yongning hydro-junction,located in Guangxi,is a station of the West River golden waterway with the pass capacity of class I.The dam site lies in the slightly bended river channel with a short straight waterway route,thus the navigation layout is rather difficult.According to the characteristics of the waterway of the dam site and the design navigation requirements,we study the overall hydraulic characteristics under operation and optimize the location of the dam based on the overall physical model.Meanwhile,combining with the channel scale optimization for a curving line into the gate and a straight line out of the gate and the shape optimization for the head of permeable separation levee,we achieve the goal that the flow conditions of upper and lower approach entrance satisfies the navigation flow requirements for less than 20 years’ return period,and solve the problems of the junction’s overall navigation layout.

      Abstract:Taking a lock on the upstream of the Yangtze River for example,we simulate the separate lock with shear keys and separate lock with flat joints by software ANSYS.In this process the Coulomb friction model is used as the tangential contact constitutive model and it is thought that the joints can pass the contact pressure,but not the pull.We investigate the joints opening size,the vertical displacement and stress state of structure,and analyze comprehensively the impact of the shear keys.Studies show that comparing with flat joints model,the joints opening size of the shear keys model is small,and the integrity property is good;the displacement of the chamber wall and floor is continuous;the stress distribution of the foundation below the floor is uniform.Increasing the shear keys’ angle is helpful in reducing the joint opening and uniform the ground stress distribution.

      Abstract:This paper attempts to parameterize the miter gate lock head with gradient corridor in the flow direction and optimize the design.The compound shape method optimization algorithm is used and size controlling parameters are selected as design variables.The minimum volume of concrete is selected as the optimization objective function and constraint conditions are anti-sliding,anti-floating,and anti-overturning.The optimized concrete volume decreased 7.109% in comparison with the initial proposed body type and better results are gotten.Reference is provided for future engineering design.

      Abstract:Equations between compression modulus,ostmotic coefficient,consolidation coefficient,seepage distance and effective consolidation stress are derived based on present results of research and considering characteristics of consolidation and settlement of shallow improvement of slurry stratum.Then change of consolidation and settlement parameters due to effective consolidation stress can be taken into account.The effect of soil column to consolidation is taken into account referring to the smear effect.The influence of bending drainage on consolidation is also analyzed.It is shown that the consolidation coefficient increases along with effective consolidation stress,the soil column is beneficial to consolidation,and the strain degree of consolidation is bigger than the stress degree of consolidation.The influence of bending drainage and decrease of thickness on consolidation can be neglected.

      Abstract:为了分析土体固结对筒型基础结构工作性状的影响,使用大型通用有限元软件ABAQUS建立筒型基础结构与土相互作用的三维弹塑性模型,模拟在波浪荷载和结构自重作用下土体的固结过程。得到筒壁的土压力、筒底的竖向位移和基底水平切力在固结作用下的变化趋势,重点分析固结对筒型基础结构稳定性的影响。结果表明,固结使作用在结构上的力和结构产生的位移发生变化,土体发生不均匀沉降,抗倾覆稳定性降低为0.625倍,抗滑动稳定性增大为1.25倍。

      Abstract:Laboratory tests are carried out to study the influences of clay content and equivalent pore size on the drainage behavior of soil-filled geotextile bag in Lianyungang harbor.Results show that the drainage effect and water content of soil-filled bag change nonlinearly with time.The drainage rate is up to thousands %d at initial phase,and then decreases rapidly to dozens %d,and becomes less than 10%d after 1 day.The maximum drainage rate is greater with less clay content.The drainage behavior is greatly influenced by the clay content of filled soil and equivalent pore size of geotextile bag.For the construction of embankment with soil-filled geotextile bags in Lianyungang harbor,the clay content of filled soil shall be controlled under 20% and the equivalent pore size of geotextile bag shall be about 0.15 mm.

      Abstract:As important temporary structures during construction period,steel cylinder retaining structures offer dry environments for the pier construction.A 3D finite element model is built to simulate the constructing process of steel cylinder retaining structure by applying Plaxis 3D finite element software.The elastic model is used to simulate the cylinder,the hardening soil model is adopted as the soil constitutive model,and the interface element is set to simulate the contact between the cylinder and soil body.By calculating the displacement of the soil body and steel cylinder under different conditions,we propose several measures to reduce the displacement and enhance the structural stability.

      Abstract:This paper analyzes the causes of the deviation and fracture of prestressed PHC pipe pile in soft soil foundation of a dock engineering,proposes reinforcement measures for the deviation of Ⅲ & Ⅳ type piles of shallow or deep cracks,and carries out inspection for the effect of the rectification.The results show that the single pile bearing capacity of Ⅲ &Ⅳ piles after reinforcement treatment can satisfy the design and construction requirements,which prove that the construction technology for treatment of the deviation and reinforcement of the PHC pile is successful,and thus may serve as reference for similar projects.

      Abstract:The characteristics of new STATNAMIC load test are studied by comparison,and the theory and usual analysis methods of STATNAMIC are described.Based on the test data of trial piling abroad,we carry out a comparison of the process natural of STATNAMIC and the dynamic load test (CASE method) to identify the reliability of STATNAMIC.To analyze the accuracy and limited conditions on STATNAMIC,we compare the results of STATNAMIC (unloading point method) and the dynamic load test (CAPWAP method).Introducing the transfer energy measurement as a parameter,we evaluate the efficiency of STATNAMIC.The impact of strain wave phenomenon on different types of piles during STATNAMIC test is studied.STATNAMIC’s applicability and economy in marine testing field in China are discussed to offer a reference for similar technology used in China in the future.

      Abstract:Ground carrying capacity is weak to use after hydraulic reclamation at Zhuhai.So the ground should be reinforced.The article discusses four different methods for ground reinforcement.The result shows that by 3 of the methods,the ground carrying capacity could be increased to 350 kPa.

      Abstract:Saturated silt soil foundation treatment with dynamic consolidation is used in Baogang Steel Co.,Ltd.in Nantong city of Jiangsu province. This paper mainly studies the dynamic consolidation parameters and foundation treatment effect in the design and construction process with a series of tests.Different dynamic consolidation parameters are adopted in different project areas,including monitored tamping pit settlement,ground uplift amount,as well as the pore water pressure in the consolidation process.Based on the static cone penetration test and static load test after consolidation process,this paper compares the reinforcement effects under different dynamic consolidation parameters,and at last gets the silt soil foundation dynamic consolidation parameters adapting to this project.

      Abstract:Focusing on solving the overflow density estimation problem in a hopper,we study the loading process in a trailing suction hopper dredger.Using multiple sets of experimental data,we verify the estimated results of the three hopper models and give the final data validation and analysis results.The research results can be applied to a dredger’s auxiliary decision-making and application of automatic control in later research.

      Abstract:Based on the characteristics of strong weathered granite,i.e.disintegrating and softening when contacting with water,we will appraise the pipeline’s wear loss in the process of material’s conveying from the migration,soil particle size distribution,particle shape,roundness,hardness,etc.According to the wear loss of pipeline section’s different position,we know that the large wear at the bottom of the pipe is due to the friction,impacting and cutting on the pipe wall from the gravel sand of 0.25 ~ 5 mm particle size and granite residual block with the particle size of greater than 5 mm.This paper discusses the pipeline’s wearing rule.
