      2014(1):1-9.

      Abstract (1430) HTML (0) PDF 1.91 M (199) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:As ports and harbours have been developing rapidly and riverside industrial zones booming in recent years alongside the Changjiang River in Jiangsu province, it is urgent to improve the existing navigable channels’ ability to handle traffic and adopt severer standards for navigable waterways in the lower stretch of the Changjiang River downstream of Nanjing. The lower stretch of the river downstream of Nanjing could be divided into two parts at the place where Jiangyin bridge locates. This paper demonstrates appropriate design vessel-types for navigation, designed navigational standards and desired geometry and dimensions of channels along the river in connection with physical conditions and engineering restrictions, demands of ports and local economic development and the sailing requirements of larger ships. It proposes the principle on value-taking for desired geometry and dimensions of deepwater channels and further gives recommended values in the main sections. Based on the spatial and temporal changes in hydrographic conditions in the studied river stretch, the paper gives the limited drafts for design vessel-types with different allowable under-keel clearance at different water level guarantee rates, and shows that the seasonal changes in draft limitation of large-scaled vessels should be taken into account in ship operations.

      2014(1):10-13.

      Abstract (1390) HTML (0) PDF 2.45 M (127) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:For the placing ship used in the waterway project, the setting of the best angle of the skateboard is an important index in the design process. A lot of construction is determined by the experience, but we can not judge the state under special conditions. After renovation of the “semi-submersible ship 1” , we get the friction coefficient range between the skateboard and interlocking pieces through many field tests, which is from 0.348 to 0.380. After setting the boundary conditions, we use the back calculation of friction coefficient and reverse engineering and obtain the skateboard best angle, i.e. 27.83° ~ 30.38°. Within this range, we can achieve the deck disposition of 2 m, realize smooth humping of skateboards when arranged in a single row of interlocking sheet, and obtain the best drum tension.

      Abstract (1082) HTML (0) PDF 1.86 M (279) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Based on the local movable bed conceptual flume tests, the longitudinal, transverse and vertical turbulent intensity distribution near the float cofferdam’s side during descending is presented using a Micro Acoustic-Doppler Velocimeter (MicroADV) to measure the instantaneous velocity. The turbulent width influenced by the changing of cofferdam subsidence depth, approaching flow velocity, upper flow depth is researched. The result shows that under the experimental conditions, the turbulent width influenced by the floating cofferdam subsidence depth is conspicuous, and by the approaching flow velocity, the upper flow depth is small relatively. In the experiment range, the relative turbulent width of D/B is increased with the floating cofferdam into relatively water depth Hc/H0 when the floating cofferdam acts alone. They are substantially linear relationship.

      2014(1):25-30.

      Abstract (1569) HTML (0) PDF 2.24 M (145) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:A series of experimental investigations are carried out to study the regular wave and irregular wave acting on the wave transmission and silt deposition of a new-type hollow-block breakwater. At the same time, by comparing wave transmission coefficient of two kinds of hollow-block breakwater which have different hollow rates and solid breakwaters, we can get statistical analysis results of the experiment data. It shows that when choosing the appropriate hollow rate, hollow-block breakwater can also reach the almost same wave transmission coefficient of solid breakwater, and can achieve a certain effect on promoting the deposition, which means that the method of selecting hollow block as the structure of submerged breakwater is reasonable and effective.

      2014(1):36-40.

      Abstract (1330) HTML (0) PDF 1.43 M (345) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:At present, value-taking of existing models of ship domain depends on the measured data or experimental data and it is lack of theory about quantitative study. According to the channel condition and ship characteristics of the lower Yangtze River, based on the concept of stopping sight distance to traffic engineering, we propose the concept of stopping sight distance to waterway engineering, analyze the braking accelerations of ship, and discuss the value of major axis about ship domain. The result indicates that that ship domain to waterway engineering is composed of reaction distance, breaking distance and safe distance. When the braking acceleration of the ship behind is three or four times as much as the ship ahead, the value of major axis about ship domain is 2.9 to 3.8 times of the ship length. The results is basically anastigmatic with the recommended values.

      2014(1):41-46.

      Abstract (1603) HTML (0) PDF 3.83 M (320) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The permeable breakwater with wave baffle can provide moderate sea for berthing by weakening the wave energy. Hydrodynamic property of flow closed to the structure is strongly affected for the resistence produced by the immersed pile and wave baffle. To study the affected hydrodynamic property of flow by wave panel in two-dimensional tidal numerical model, the wave panel is generalized by the method of discharge-equivalent and resistance-equivalent respectively, which equals approximately the retaining effect caused by wave panel to similar effect caused by adding depth or adding roughness. The results show that both methods can simulate the waterresistance effect of wave panel, and the simulation results of resistance-equivalent method is more consistent with practical rules.

Abstract:Based on the off-shore wharf engineering of the Zhongke Refinery & Petrochemical Company, the uplift wave-pressure and wave-force on pier on piles are researched by wave physical model tests. Firstly, the process and distribution of wave pressure on the undersurface of pier are analyzed under different conditions of relative ultrahigh (height between pier and water surface), the two different types of pressure (pressure of impact and pressure of wave) are discussed, and the relationship between the relative synchronous pressure on the undersurface of pier and relative ultrahigh is proposed. Secondly, the process of uplift wave force on pier is analyzed under different conditions of relative ultrahigh, and is compared with relative pressure. At last, the result of different computing methods of relative uplift wave force on pier is compared with the result of physical model test. The research provides reference about uplift wave force on pier for other off-shore wharf engineering.

      2014(1):86-89.

      Abstract (1781) HTML (0) PDF 1.69 M (107) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:This paper analyzes the operation process of ship’s entering and leaving port through singlefairway in coastal container terminals and puts forward that the idea of improving the fairway throughput capacity by building anchorages when channel resources are limited. Moreover, a simulation model of ship navigation operation system is built in coastal container terminals considering the inner harbor anchorage. The results show that the number of anchorage and fairway capacity is correlated with an extreme of inner anchorage. Otherwise, it is available to increase the fairway throughput capacity by constructing anchorage in harbor. However, fairway throughput capacity no longer increases when the number of anchorage in harbor exceeds the extreme value. The extreme value could be regarded as the reference number of the anchorage in harbor.
