      Abstract:Shuangyu artificial island(commissioned by China Merchants Group Zhangzhou Economic- Technological Development Area) is the first domestic artificial island which is approved by the State Council to be fully developed for tourism, living and ecology. This paper particularly introduces how to consider the connection between Shuangyu island’s preceding land reclamation design and later layout and building, and intensively researches key technology such as the artificial island layout, the structural scheme of the outer revetment, land reclamation, soil ground treatment, architecture with special function, et al. according to the features that the engineering geological location is relatively complex and the thickness of silt layer is large.

      Abstract:Due to the absence of the ground resource, the construction land of the general aerial industry base is planned to get from reclamation in the east of Meishan to construct infrastructures in order to satisfy the functions planning of Meishan. We use the MIKE 21 HD model to simulate the influence on current due to the planned five different reclamation scenarios in the east of Meishan after plugging the Meishan waterway, and make a comparison according to the modeling results. The modeling results reveal that the influence of the planned reclamation project to the larger area tide field is little. Generally speaking, the influence of the first scenario is the least as its reclamation area is the least among the five scenarios. While the fifth scenario has the least influence on the south Chuanshan operation area, as the waterway between Pusheshan mountain and Meishan is not plugged.

      Abstract:In combination with the design of waterfront excavation for a ship dock entrance, a twodimensional finite element numerical simulation is conducted to investigate the performance of the retaining structures during the excavating and dewatering process of the dock entrance. The geotechnical analysis program Plaxis 2D is adopted to establish the plain-strain numerical model which takes into account the interaction between the retaining structures and the surrounding strata, different tide levels and wave conditions, on-site topographical and geological conditions, as well as the complicated construction sequences. The numerical results indicate that there are obvious distinctions of the performance of retaining structures between waterfront excavation and conventional onshore excavation. The most disadvantageous construction stage of the waterfront excavation is during the process of dewatering and before the construction of protecting berms outside the retaining steel sheet piles. Tide and wave conditions exert more detrimental impacts on the single-line steel sheet piles than on the doubleline compound steel sheet piles filled with sand. More concerns should be focused on the alteration of the axial force of the first-level struts which may change from compression to subsequent tension; correspondingly, the overall cast-in-situ concrete beams ought to be used for the first-level struts to strengthen the integrative stiffness of the retaining structures.

      Abstract:Lianyungang port is typical muddy coast. The natural condition of harbor construction is odious. So, we need to find a new hydro-structure to fit harbor construction in the odious natural condition. We recommend a new hydro-structure named bucket-based structure, research the characteristics and structure styles of the new hytro-structure, and expound the application prospect of three actual project cases including the breakwater project of Xuwei, bulkhead wall project of Xuwei port and workboat wharf project of Mayao port. The results show that the new bucket-based structure has the function of developing the properties of mud and raising the bearing capacity of foundation. The new structure is suitable to the development of deepwater and big port in Lianyungang port. It also provides the technical support for the port construction of Lianyungang.

      Abstract:With the rapid development of national economy and a growing demand for water transportation, inland waterway transport has risen to a national strategy level. Therefore, we have to settle some shipping bottlenecks for parts of inland water transportation. The Gongdaying lock expansion plan for Youdungang waterway regulation project in Shanghai is analyzed by comparing several different expansion plans, and the current plan is determined to build a new lock on the east side of the old lock. Meanwhile, some related key technical problems are solved, such as layout plan and hydraulic structures. The experience obtained in this project provides reference for solving the similar bottleneck problems hampering inland waterway transportation.

      Abstract:In order to improve the berthing capacity, we carry out the reinforcement and reconstruction design to a container terminal. Considering that the beams on both the front and the back of the pier lies on one axis, we propose a new solution in which the front and the back of the pier are hinged by the dowel bar. Software Easydoing, Robot, etc. are used for the internal force analysis of the pier structure before and after the reconstruction.It is concluded from the analysis and the results of the dowel-bar test site that the new solution of reinforcement and reconstruction can surely improve the stress distribution of the pier structure. The reinforced and reconstructed pile-supported pier can meet the berthing requirement for all vessel types. In addition, the front and the back of the pier being hinged together have the advantages as more construction convenience, shorter construction period, less effect on routine operation and lower cost. The solution proposed also provides a new thought for the design of the reinforcement and reconstruction.

      Abstract:The interaction between wave and superstructure is very complicated, and there is no calculation basis in the current design codes. In this case, when the high-pile wharf is designed, the formula of wave force to the high-pile wharf superstructure, which is in the Handbook for Design of Sea Harbour Structure, is usually adopt. According to the handbook formula, this paper proposes to adopt the graphical calculation method of using AutoCAD to draw the theoretical wave surface. By adjusting the relative position between wave surface and wharf structure across-section, an engineering example is calculated in different working conditions, to serve as reference for the engineering design.

      Abstract:The dust of bulk goods is the pollutant source during the operation period at the bulk terminal. It has great impact on the environment and requires a high-standard treatment. Taking the 2nd phase of Majishan project for example, this paper expounds the dust proof design which is based on the principle of “energy saving and emission reduction” and “the new replacing the old” in design, and adopts series of simple and effective technological measures. The monitoring data shows that with the implementation of the 2nd phase environmental protection facilities and improvement of the 1st phase ones, the emission of toxins is no longer proportionally increasing but decreased instead. It has achieved the expected results of “increasing production without increasing pollution”.

      Abstract:In port engineering, transfer station is generally provided with a variety of processing equipment, which is with high vibrating load and thus has apparent effect on the structure. If the arrangements of the structure and member section are unreasonable, it will affect the structure performance, even the safety of the structure. The influence of equipment vibration load on the structural design is divided into three parts: effecting on load, component design, structure overall design. Transfer station vibration control should be mainly controlling the horizontal vibration displacement. Design principles and calculation methods of transfer station considering the equipment vibration load effect is provided. Rational suggestions about the influence of reducing device vibration on behaviors of structure performance are proposed.

      Abstract:The wind load distribution on all-weather working large-span dock is studied by rigidity model man metric experiment in the wind tunnel. The effects of high water level, low water level, occupied and unoccupied on characteristics of wind pressure distribution are discussed. The results show that the effects of internal pressure on wind load, which is the significant change to the wind direction, is unnegligible; The wind suction is enforced because of positive internal pressure induced by local openings in some wind directions; The wind loads are different in interference cases, and the strongest wind load appears in case of unoccupied in the low water level.

      Abstract:The ship-bridge collision-prevention design of Donghai bridge is taken as an example to discuss the design of ship-bridge collision-prevention for the bridge located in complicated environment and several schemes with feasibilities are compared. Large-diameter thin shell cylindrical structures widely used in the port engineering are introduced to construct a new type of anti-collision system, with detailed structures presented. It can be a reasonable selection for the ship-bridge collision avoidance system due to the favorable mechanical properties and adaptability of foundations of large-diameter thin shell cylindrical structures. The detailed structures of shipbridge collision avoidance system presented in this paper may provide some reference for the design of ship-bridge collision avoidance system of bridges under similar environment.

      Abstract:A lot of soft soil foundation distributes in coastal areas. In recent years, the government has paid more protection to the mountain and its vegetation, thus the supply of gravel soils has reduced greatly and the price has shot up. In order to ease the contradiction between supply and demand, we need to seek a way of soft soil foundation processing for new materials. Taking the practical application of the stabilized soil from silt Xuwei Lianyungang port as an example, we carry out an analysis from aspects of technology, application effect and economy, and draw the conclusion that the sludge solidification can be used partly replacing stone, which is one of the most effective methods for soft soil treatment. It is worthy of popularizing and contributes to the construction of environment friendly and resource saving type society.

      Abstract:According to the mechanics problem of ultra-large-diameter single-pile in offshore wind generator foundation, this paper simulates the mechanical characteristics of the single-pile by number software based on the practical engineering. Variation curves of pile length, pile wall thickness and displacement, stress, and data tables which displacement and stress are changed with the variation of pile wall thickness and increasing the flange are gained by computing results. The conclusions are obtained that the variation of pile length, pile wall thickness in certain range can affect pile displacement and stress, the local variation of pile wall thickness changes indistinctively displacement, but stress is changed observably, and the lateral displacement can be reduced effectively by increasing the flange in certain range under mud surface. The best underground length and thickness of the flange are given in order to provide the design basis for the practical engineering.
