Abstract:Based on the plan to build an artificial island in Dalian bay, under a variety of artificial islands in the combination of length and width conditions, and using MIKE21 flow model, we simulate the gulf flow field before and after the construction of the artificial island. Under the concept of the tidal level gap, we study the water exchange, pollutant dispersion and retention rate in the gulf, and evaluate the impact of the artificial island on the water environment in the gulf. Under different functional premises of the artificial island, and considering many factors of the artificial island and water environment, we put forward the recommendation for the artificial island.

Abstract:The model based on the gravity similarity criterion and its structure cross-section is meeting the geometric similarity. It uses the rational scale of length according to the testing field, the block weight and the test requirement. The experiment uses the suitable spectrum of wave simulation rules to analyze the wave and test the stability and security of the inclined breakwaters with the drive-servo absorptive-pusher wave maker, then optimize the cross-section according to the result to define the final section.

Abstract:With the development of steel industry, Chinese iron ore dependence is increasing year by year. By the market and cost structure influence, the economic benefits of the dry bulk fleet changes greatly, which affects the development of China imported iron ore ship style directly. This thesis builds the imported Brazil iron ore economic model of the single carriage which accords well with the actualities, and draws the curve of evaluation index. It also determines the optimal ship style and carries out a sensitivity analysis, so as to provide a reference for the planning of the arrived ship style of the ore dock.

Abstract:Based on a fourth-order Boussinesq model by Madsen and Sch?ffer, a numerical implementation of the model in one horizontal direction is established by finite difference method in staggered grids. A composite forth order Adams-Bashforth-Moulton scheme is used to step the model forward in time. A grid-interior source function presented by Gobbi and Kirby is utilized in present model to avoid the re-refraction. Numerical simulations of wave propagating over a submerged sill are carried out. And the Luth et al’s(1994) laboratory data are used to test the applicability of the present model, and the numerical results are in general agreement with laboratory data. In addition, numerical results based on the Boussinesq model in non-staggered grids are given. Results show that both models can well simulate the wave evolution over a submerged sill.

Abstract:At present, BEM and VOF methods are two kinds of effective methods for simulating the nearshore wave deformation. A new numerical wave coupling model based on both BEM and VOF methods is established by considering the advantages of both methods. In this model, wave propagation in front of structures is calculated by BEM, and the interactions between waves and structures are calculated by VOF method. The applicability and accuracy of this model are examined by comparing numerical results with the experiment results of wave propagation and deformation around a submerged breakwater. The results show that the present model can accurately illustrate the interactions between waves with structures.

Abstract:By the contrastive methods, this paper analyzes the change of the channel condition in the upriver and middle reaches of the Yangtze River before and after the impoundment of the TGP, and calculates the shipping cost of the ship route from Chongqing to Yichang, based on the representative ships. It is concluded that the water transportation cost and oil consumption are decreased obviously, and it is suggested to speed up the channel regulation and ship types standardization to improve the traffic capacity of the Three Gorges project.

Abstract:It is the first application of 30 cm thick soft mattress of concrete interlocking blocks in deepwater without sheltering in China. Based on the analysis of the stress of soft mattress affected by flow-force, we optimize the geostrip structure, and put forward a proposal that the rang of safety factor shall not be less than 2 times. We also propose the configuration requirements of soft-mattress-laying vessel under adverse geologic conditions, summarize and analyze the application of soft-mattress-laying vessel and the significant impact of the row-flap length on the stress of soft mattress. Based on the analysis and construction control, we effectively improve the quality and the success ratio of soft-mattress laying in deepwater without sheltering.

Abstract:According to the operation mechanism of the logistics field, we combine the factors of the North-to-South coal diversion, such as production place, ports, railways and water transports, with the logistics sources, sinks, corridors and nodes. On the basis of the logistics field operation model, we build the North-to-South coal diversion transport network in China and optimize the existing transport network, so as to realize the maximum benefits. Moreover, we analyze the actual South-to-North coal diversion cases to verify the applicability of the model and analyze the existing water network of the coal in China.

Abstract:To satisfy marine concrete construction, we carried out an experimental study on the high-performance self-compacting marine concrete with fly ash and slag powder. Experimental results show that the fluidity, filling ability, passing ability and segregation resistance of self-compacting concrete containing 20% to 30% fly ash are good when mineral admixtures content is from 60% to 70% and they can satisfy marine concrete construction. Moreover, its compressive strength in 28 days is greater than 50 MPa, charge passed in 56 days is less than 1000 C, and chloride penetration coefficient is under 1.5×10-12 m2/s. Its compressive strength and chloride resistance are high and thus it may be used in concrete structures of marine circumstance.

Abstract:In order to mumerically simulate 2D flow, under 6 kinds of flow ratios, at a sharp-edged, open-channel junction with 90°for channels of equal width, software Fluent with RSM turbulence model is introduced to solve the Navier-Stokes Equations. The comparison between numerical simulation sizes of separation zones and experimental data prove that the RSM model does well in the flow of small flow ratio. Thus the hybrid turbulence model is recommended, and it is suggested to use the RSM model when the flow ratio is less than 0.583, otherwise, H-L model. Furthermore, the relation diagram of separation zones’ length, width and flow ratio is plotted.

Abstract:Sino-Kuwait refinery/petrochemical joint venture project in Guangdong will be constructed as a super large-scale petrochemical base at Donghai island, Zhanjiang port. Due to the large construction scale of the project, a large variety of cargoes with complicated properties and extensive market to be transported by jetties, and a close relationship with large-scale steel plant and planning petrochemicals zone, many considerations have played an important role in this project. This paper analyzes and concludes relevant factors such as demonstration of construction scale for auxiliary jetties of port-related petrochemical industry, site selection of large-scale crude oil jetty, partitioning of port area, key points of general layout, etc., to determine the reasonable general layout plan of jetty engineering and provide a basis for the adjustment of existing port planning. The research conclusion of this case can be taken as a reference for similar projects.

Abstract:Applying the concept of “strong support frame theory” in Article 5.3.3 of the Code for Design of Steel Structures (GB 50017—2003), referring to relevant literatures, and combining with the structural characteristics of steel trestles in the port engineering, we adopt the a combination of truss and single column structure for the large-span and high-support trestle. The practical method for determining the column length is proposed.

Abstract:From the time dimension and space dimension, and based on the qualitative analysis, this paper studies the spatial structure evolution of the Pearl River port group using two analysis tools, i.e. the Gini coefficient and concentration factor of cargo flow in the port group when placing it in a long historical period. The results show that the spatial structure of ports of the Pearl River estuary features a staged evolution, the overall trend tends to spread, and the spatial structure of the diffusion process reflects obvious volatility.

Abstract:Taking Shanghai port as an example, this paper discusses the variaton characteristics of port throughput by the empirical mode decomposition method. It is found that the variation of Shanghai port’s cargo throughput has the periods of 3~4 months, quasi 6 months, quasi 1 year, quasi 2 years and quasi 6 years. These variation characteristics are related to the fluctuation cycle of the social production and consumption, national economy grow, macro-control, international trade and economic fluctuations, etc. Finally, the instructive significance of the mode decomposition to the practical work is discussed.

Abstract:Using OPTIMOOR software and aiming at decreasing the ship movement under the environment load and averaging the lines tension distribution, we optimize the mooring lines’ layout of open sea terminal through contrasting different line materials, adjusting line length and modulating the pre-tensile-force. The results show that the increase of the lines length can reduce the tension, fitting of tail ropes can decrease dynamic loads of wire mooring lines and ship movement, the application of proper pre-tensile-force can decline the ship movement and average the lines’ tension distribution. It is suggested to choose wire lines in large vessels.

Abstract:In order to design a double-buoy mooring system in the Yalu river estuary for the loading work of 40 000 DWT bulk cargo ships, this paper calculates the wind force, current force, wave force, as well as the total force on the ship based on the practicality of the meteorological condition of this sea area, the data of the vessel, as well as the national criterion, based on which, this paper designs a double-buoy mooring system, determines the size of the mooring buoy, the size and length of the chain, and the size and depth of the deadman. The construction based on this design gains a good effect and thus proves that the calculation and design methods are feasible and effective.

Abstract:The oblique bearing pile nearby shore in a wharf was damaged at the joint of the oblique bearing pile and the pile cap. It is thought that under the horizontal component of the axial compressive force of the oblique bearing pile, the lack of jointing strength of the oblique bearing pile and the pile cap is the major reason for the damage. Besides, the soft ground, construction quality of the joint and overload of storage yard may also cause the damage. It is suggested to carry out the calculation for the connection of the oblique bearing pile and the pile cap or the transverse beam.

Abstract:The water depth of navigational channel in the south channel and north passage is over 12.5 m after the Yangtze estuary deepwater channel regulation project. The river regime and flow dynamics condition of the Yangtze estuary changed after the project. The characteristics of bed transformation in the Yangtze river estuary is studied with actual underwater geomorphic data. The 2-D numerical simulation of tidal current SWEM2D of Estuarine & Coastal Science Research Center of Shanghai is used to simulate the flow field in the Yangtze estuary. The change of flow ration of south channel and north channel, south passage and north passage, which is the main factor to the Yangtze estuary, is analyzed. The main reasons for the change of flow ration are also given.

Abstract:After the implementation of Danjiangkou water diversion scheme, the coming water and sand in the lower Hanjiang river will change a lot, and the shoal will be influenced greatly due to the reduction of scouring during the drop period. Under natural conditions, the shoal can’t be scoured well in the dry season, and the small size of the turning radius can’t meet the bidirectional navigation requirements of the design fleets. This paper analyzes the river bed evolution characteristics and navigation obstruction features, and determines different regulation principles and regulation methods for different shoals. Based on the physical model experiment and self-propelled ship model test, this paper studies the engineering scheme satisfying the ships’ bidirectional navigation, which may serve as a reference for similar shoal regulation.

Abstract:Manyusha shoal, located in the Kou’an straight reach, is a main navigation obstacle in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Based on the evolution character in the recent period, it shows that the navigation obstacle character is closely related with the scale of Manyusha shoal. Higher and more integral the shoal is, better the navigation condition is. It is concluded that Manyusha shoal and the left and right deep pools produce much scouring-silting change, which is the main cause of the formation of the shoa1, Especially, the reduction of sediment coming from upstream will result in that the shoal is easy to be eroded, while hard to be deposit. So the navigation condition will be severe. Based on an analysis of the navigation obstructing features of the shoal section, this paper proposes the regulation idea which is to maintain the existing pattern of one pool of two slots, to increase and heighten the central bar and adjust the flow distribution of riffle and pool so as to increase the scouring capability of shallow areas and solve the problem of navigation obstruction at the Manyusha shoal of Kou’an straight reach.

Abstract:The riverbed of entrance area of downstream approach channel and downstream connection in the Qianwei hydro-junction is high on the left and low on the right, and the flow condition at the entrance area is very complicated. Based on the analysis of the test of Qianwei hydro-junction model and ship model, we propose the measures for improving navigational conditions of entrance area of downstream approach channel in the Qianwei navigation-power junction on the Minjiang River. The test result shows that it’s effective to expand the downstream excavation scope, retain the original riverbed properly and adjust the open manners of the flood discharge (scouring sluice) gate reasonably.

Abstract:The traffic capacity of ship lock relates to daily average times of ships passing through a waterway lock, once lock tonnage, days of open to navigation per year, ship loading coefficient and un-equilibrium coefficient of traffic capacity. These factors have some uncertainties, which have an important influence to traffic capacity of ship lock. In order to eliminate these uncertainties, it uses MC computer simulation to study the traffic capacity of ship lock, and takes the new Xiagang river as an example. The result shows that computer simulation is good at dealing with uncertainties problems, and can provide a theoretical basis for construction of ship lock.

Abstract:In order to research the effect of river beach protection engineering and scour hole reduced by the engineering, we take a typical river beach protection engineering as an example and set a large-scale local movable bed generalized model to research the fishbone type beach protection engineering. According to specific conditions of the model experiment, we analyze the feasibility of this method and give the model result of fishbone type beach protection engineering. The results show that this method can not only compare the beach protection effect among different engineering layout plans easily, but also get the morphological parameters of local scour hole, which gives a better guidance to the engineering design.

Abstract:A 3D tidal current and sediment mathematical model under the effect of wind and wave is set up and used to simulate the current field and sediment concentration field under typhoon“WIPHA”around Lianyungang sea area. The computed results and the field measured data are compared and verified. The verification shows that the simulated result tallies well with the field observation data. On this basis, the mathematical model is used to simulate the sediment deposition of 300 000 DWT deep-water channel of Lianyungang port during“WIPHA”typhoon. The deposition thickness of the channel is presented, which can provide a basis for the design of the navigation channel.

Abstract:The difference in soil consolidation effect and cost between the high-performance wick drain and common wick drain is analyzed. According to the settlement monitoring data and detected result, it is proved that high-performance wick drain is advanced in both soil consolidation effect and cost than the common wick drain. So a new kind of material, high-performance wick drain, which is more excellent and more economical, is recommended and provided for the soil consolidation engineering.

Abstract:The traditional technique of repairing damaged reinforced concrete structures underwater is complex and difficult, but grouting with underwater epoxy adhesive can repair the damaged reinforced structures with small defects conveniently. There is no specialized equipment and technique for the construction due to it’s high density and viscosity. In this article, the construction technique and application of underwater grouting with epoxy underwater adhesive are introduced, to serve as a reference for the underwater repair of sea port concrete structures.

Abstract:Based on the literature research, the method which integrates Monte Carlo simulation technique and finite element method was used to quantify the reliability of rock-socketed steel pipe pile during construction considering pile-soil interaction behavior and uncertainties in various variables. Uncertainties associated with horizontal foundation coefficients, rock-socketed length, section properties of the pile and load conditions were explicitly considered. Combining with the result of the reliability analysis, fuzzy theory was used to calculate the direct economic loss of pile during construction. The probability of pile loss of different degrees was obtained through calculation and a comprehensive and systematic risk analysis for the construction period of the deepwater pile foundation was carried out.

Abstract:The customer’s demands towards diversity and quick response in the supply chain environment have placed higher demands on port service supply chains (PSSCs) and information systems have been important means to realize the goal. With flexibility and quick response, an information integration pattern and the related coordination mechanism is designed for PSSCs to enhance their competitiveness. The connotation and basic structure of PSSCs are given. Through comparison of the pros and cons of the four integration patterns as straight-chain, cross-level, net-shaped and integrated management patterns, the fourth is selected as suitable. A three-layered information management structure is designed to be made up of the strategic, the controlling and the operational layer. The work logic is provided and the coordination mechanism is pointed out.

Abstract:According to standard methods and the engineering practice and the key technical issues of inland suspended vertical wharf with a large fluctuation, relying on a large number of numerical calculation, we make a disaster prediction for the disaster of the inland suspended vertical wharf with a large fluctuation under various load combinations. Using ArcView to combine predict results with geographic information system effectively, we establish the disaster prediction and management system of inland suspended vertical wharf with a large fluctuation, and make the dynamic management of the port security assessment. Through the assessment of the system test data, we can effectively improve the loading efficiency of the port, and make a real-time assessment of the safety performance.
