Abstract:Based on a systematic analysis of the mean overtopping, layer thickness of wave overtopping flow on the crest of the breakwater and secondary wave height, as well as the period over breakwater by physical model test, we establish the relationship between the non-dimensional mean overtopping and relative layer thickness of wave overtopping flow, secondary wave height transmission coefficient, and period variation. The experimental results may serve as a reference for the practical engineering design and the parameter adjustment for associated numerical models.

Abstract:As a new type foundation, caisson-cylindrical foundation structure has been applied to engineering, yet there isn’t inspection standard on the structure applied in engineering at present. In view of the characteristics and action mechanism of the caisson-cylindrical foundation structure, and combining with the application practice, we present the inspection program, inspection technical requirement and way of building and application to the caisson-cylindrical foundation structure including raw materials, welding, structure size, rust removal, painting, airtight, exhaust system, floating system, location inspection, etc., serving as a guidance to the engineering.

Abstract:This paper presents the patent technology principle of“control-loaded explosive sludge-extruding displacement method”and mainly introduces the Xuanmen third-phase reclamation engineering construction control and dam detection. Based on the engineering practice on the deep soft soil foundation, it is concluded that the method is economical and feasible. The application of the control-loaded explosive sludge-extruding displacement technique can guarantee the construction quality of the project and control project cost. The design and construction methods and empirical parameters can be used as a reference for future projects.

Abstract:Based on the slope reliability and optimization principle, we construct the high slope system design and excavation optimization model, regarding the total expectation cost as the objective function. In combination withthe practical engineering of Funing port in Yunnan province, we optimize the high slope located in the general berth land area, and obtain the relationships of safety factor,reliability and the design slope angle. Meanwhile, we propose the reasonable excavation model with different loss coefficients based on the expected cost. The optimization design theory of high slope based on the expected cost proposed may serve as a reference for the practical slope projects.

Abstract:Numerical attenuation problem is common in constructing vessel’s seakeeping numerical wave tank, which is especially evident in short wave’s simulation. In this article, causes of wave’s attenuation in numerical simulation are analyzed, and the factors affecting the attenuation are got, which are grid size, grid aspect ratio, time step, discretization scheme and free surface reconstruction method. Through a series of comparison simulations, with wave generated by wave boundary method and free surface captured by Volume of Fluid (VOF) method, the quantitative relationship between the impact factors and numerical attenuation is summarized and an optimized setup is got. Using this setup, three short waves are simulated, and the simulation results show good agreement with the theoretical solution.

Abstract:The circular type caisson is one of the most widely used structures in the open sea of northern China. Several actual projects prove that the inner forces of bottom and side walls are mainly affected by the layout of the inner partition. Setting the diameter and external load and changing the layout of the inner partition, the analysis of the inner forces of the bottom slab and the side walls shows that more partitions are better for the bottom and worse for the side wall, and the radial-direction partition is better than other types of partitions. Layouts for the inner partition of different parts of the caisson, i.e. the upper part, the middle part and the lower part, are put forward.

Abstract:Through references and comparison of main current computations for stability against overturning of cellular steel sheet pile, a new calculation method“, modified separation method”, is raised:assuming that the gravity of the packing inside the cellular sheet does not directly participate in anti-overturning, instead, the mechanism and degree of anti-overturning are represented by the lateral pressure and friction of the soil against the wall of the cellular sheet, accordingly amendment is made to the traditional“TVA separation method”, and meliorated calculation method is provided. Moreover, though a case study, the result is compared with those of the current five methods in order to verify the rationality and practicality of the present one.

Abstract:In the practice of diaphragm wall construction, some important functions of the guide wall have been ignored, so the past experience-based design of guide wall is lack of scientificness. According to comprehensive analysis of functions of the guide wall, this paper puts forward the general safety design principle for the guide wall of ultra-deep rectangular diaphragm wall, and deduces the formulas of depth, width, anti-sliding,toppling through force analysis for purpose to instruct the design of guide wall scientifically. It also puts the design theory into practice in one rectangular diaphragm wall quay project.

Abstract:The steady mooring conditions in the fishing harbor generally include the steady mooring conditions in the wharf and in the anchorage area. Based on the steady mooring conditions in the anchorage of the fishing harbor, this paper introduces the wave height provisions in the anchorage of the fishing harbor of developed countries, analyses the disadvantages of the significant wave height of China. This paper further validates the VQY811 fishing boats (298.4 kW), and proposes the that the maximum wave height in anchorage of the fishing harbor not greater than 1 meter is practical.

Abstract:Referring to the project practice of Singapore Maritime Museum, we introduce a new kind of watertight revetment structure of compound piling wall, which is applicable to the project of the buildings constructed on the reclaimed land and being immediately adjacent to the revetment structure, and displaying comprehensive superiority in the aspects of technique, cost, and construction as well. The new revetment structure is not yet included in the Chinese technical standard or code. With the broad application both at home and abroad, this technology is facing a good prospect of popularization and application.

Abstract:Based on the complex network theory, this paper establishes a network model or the port collection and distribution road system, and analyzes some structural parameters such as degree distribution of network node according to the topology relation graph. Abstract:Mabianzhou jetty of CSPC Nanhai Petrochemicals Project is of typical island-type dolphin berth and with no access way to the land. Mabianzhou jetty is a pile-foundation, butterfly-type layout and open sea terminal, and is mainly used for receiving raw materials of petrochemicals plant. A serial of problems shall be solved for the design of this jetty, such as general layout, power supply, water supply, traffic with land, fire-fighting, communications, landing of submarine pipeline etc. The successful design, construction and operation experience of this jetty can be taken as a reference for similar projects.

Abstract:In order to research the safety reliability of high-pile wharf under the crane traveling load, we take a steel-concrete mix rigid frame high-pile wharf as a study case to establish the whole 3D numerical model,which includes the piles, surrounding soils, structures and the upper rigid frames , and adopt the software ANSYS for numerical calculation. The result indicates that the most dangerous case is that when the north crane and south cranearrive at the cantilever of the water side rigid frame simultaneously; when the displacement, stress, internal force of the wharf are sensitive to the synchronization with the same movement case; and when the axial force of piles are all compression, and the piles along the No.E longitudinal beam can’t be drawn out. This conclusion can be used for the design of the same type high-pile wharf.

Abstract:In view of the development trend of coal demand in China’s coastal area, this paper analyzes the development of coal demand of Zhejiang province, the service target of Ningbo-Zhoushan port coal transport.According to the analysis of the current situation of energy consumption, coal consumption and transport structure of Zhejiang province, this paper forecasts the energy and coal consumption demand of Zhejiang province in 2015 and 2020 and estimates the coal transport mode and structure, and thus obtains the development trend of coal throughput of Ningbo-Zhoushan port. Combining with the situations of the existed coal berths and those under construction, this paper also discusses the adaptability of port throughput and wharf capacity.

Abstract:This paper probes into the mechanical properties of slab pier terminal of Naxigou and studies the application prospect of the slab pier terminal in the Three Gorges reservoir. The results show that the slab pier terminal can adapt to the long-duration deep water after the impoundment of the Three Gorges. This kind of structural type can not only improve the construction level, but also increase the bent spacing, so as to realize allweather construction of the terminal and improve the safety of the wharf structure. It will be widely used as a new terminal structure in the fluctuating backwater area of Three Gorges reservoir area.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the working principle, damage mechanism and monitoring indices of the highpile wharf and introduces the application of the inclinometer in wharf monitoring based on a case study of a river wharf engineering monitoring project. By pooled analysis of dynamic data from continuous monitoring, we obtained the real-time displacement of soil structure and built the displacement-depth curve of each monitoring point. This paper also analyzes the reason of displacement at each monitoring point and discusses the pattern and influential factors of the horizontal displacement rate. The limitations of inclinometer are summarized from the problems occurred in the project.

Abstract:The navigation channel of the Yangtze River below the city of Nanjing has an excellent natural condition. With lots of water conservancy and waterborne projects underway, this channel possesses essential conditions for large-sized seagoing vessels sailing into the Yangtze River, but there exist some shallow areas that restrict the navigation benefits. In the 1990s, a research program for the systematic regulation of the deep-water channel of the Yangtze River below Nanjing was initiated. Based on the long-term research on the river process and channel situation, the construction thoughts of“integrated planning, implementing in stages, regulating from the lower to the upper, opening and then smoothing”, and the regulation principles of“taking the best time and circumstances, controlling the key part, implementing progressively, planning globally adapting to local conditions”, were gradually formed, which provides a technically-feasible scheme to realize the extension of the 12.5m deep-water channel in Yangtze River from the estuary to Nanjing.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the riverbed evolution of Chengtong reach at the Yangtze Estuary based on the measured bathymetry between 1977 and 2006, discusses the river regime evolution of Chengtong reach and the its influence on the variation of the -12.5 m deep channel from the riverbed changes in the longitudinal, lateral and vertical directions as well as the erosion and deposition change. The results show that frequent swings of local shoals in the Chengtong reach, such as Fujiangsha, Rugaoshaqun, Tongzhousha and the continuously west moving Langshansha have negative effects on the evolution of the local -12.5 m deep channel, i.e., causing some swings and even breaks. In addition, the reduced volume of sediment source due to the large-scale hydraulic engineering at upstream may cause the tendency of the increasing channel-fill volume, which is required to be further investigated in the future study.

Abstract:By the structural and contrastive methods, this paper calculates the shipping lock capacity in the late five years on the basis of statistics data, and researches the feasibility of the measures so as to raise the capacity.It is concluded that the potential capacity by means of large-sized ships is limited, and the shipping lock capacity is saturating gradually, so it is difficult to satisfy the growing need of the water transport. It is suggested to optimize the standard ships and initiating the research on the newly-built navigation facilities.

Abstract:This paper utilizes the data of water and sediment and river topography after the impoundment of the Three Gorges reservoir to analyze the channel and sediment of Jingjiang river, channel scouring and siltation,width-to-depth ratio and change of riverbed profile. On this base, this thesis studies the impact of the change riverbed profile on the Jingjiang channel condition. The laws of morphology variation of different sections in Jingjiang river are proved to be different after TGR operation, yet common features among these laws are clearly represented by upstream water sediment variation-deduced point bar scouring, river-width expansion, and contraction decline,as well as the decrease of degree of curve under the same flow. Under the impact of release of water these changes will be sustainable development. The nearshore scouring and the width of river channel increase are still the main forms and features. Moreover, these changes may bring about some unfavorable effects on Jingjiang channel condition.

Abstract:The entrance to the Yangtze River is the key part of linking tributaries to the Yangtze River, and the bed stability is important for the smooth transport of waterway. By taking the entrance of Qinhuai river and the entrance of Chengnan river of Nanjing reach as the research cases, we analyze the features of the beach evolution.Based on the existing data on dredging, we study the effect of beach evolution on the entrance waterway to the Yangtze River. The research results show that the beach evolution not only forms the local conditions of the entrance waterway, but also affects the water and sediment condition, thus it has great influence on the current, sediment motion and waterway of the entrance to the Yangtze River.

Abstract:The size of the sector lock gate in Longzhouyuan ship lock of water diversion project from the Yangtze River to the Hanjiang River is the largest at home and abroad. The water head of the gate bore is also the highest. There are many features which make it is very difficult to analysis the gate by maturity formulas, such as the complexity of 3D spatial structures and stress state, various conditions, the large size of the structure and so on. In order to make known the stress and strain of the gate under various conditions, the finite element analysis model of the large -scale sector lock gate is established by ANSYS finite element method software. The strength, displacement and stability of the sector lock gate are analyzed in this paper. The strength and rigidity of the gate are checked and its safety is assessed. The analysis results could provide a scientific basis to make the design of the lock gate more perfect, and have important value in making the decision for the installation and maintenance of the lock gate.

Abstract:Prestressed concrete pipe pile is widely used in coastal areas, but the penetration of chloride ions affects the durability of PHC pile. The damage of PHC piles, which will reduce the seismic capacity of structures,is difficult to be found and repaired, so anti-corrosion measures for the PHC pile shall be considered. In view of the characteristics of structure and construction of the PHC pile, several anti-corrosion measures are introduced for the PHC pile, which are suitable for various conditions. It may serve as a reference for the project of PHC piles with a requirement of anti-corrosion.

Abstract:After the thin wall sampler was used in soft soil widely in the 1980 s, according to the data of the relations between soil’s stress and strain with the soil’s structure strength, the soft soil behaves quasi-elasticity before breakage and elastic-plasticity after. Many soil test data show that the soft soil’s compression and strength indexes are lineal and phased. This paper corrects the early relevant understanding about the traditional soil mechanics theory because of the ordinary sampler and technology.

Abstract:Taking the engineering practice of the hydraulic revetment reinforcement by high-pressure rotary jet grouting pile of the western government wharf in Shenzhen port as a study case, this paper introduces the application of triple-tube high-pressure rotary-jet pile for the reinforcement of the hydraulic revetment. Through the description of the reinforcement of high-pressure rotary-jet grouting pile layout, the determination of construction parameters, the construction technology, quality control, and pile foundation detection, this paper verifies the feasibility of the high-pressure rotary-jet grouting pile in the reinforcement of the hydraulic revetment, indicating that the revetment structure protection with high-pressure jet grouting pile is technically feasible and economically reasonable, so it provides a reference for the promotion of the application of jet grouting piles.

Abstract:In order to interpret the real stress characteristic, construction stage of double-wall steel sheet pile cofferdam in dock is simulated by the soft of PLAXIS. The displacement of cofferdam, the internal force steel sheet piles and tie rods, and the safety factors are obtained. The undrained case in the construction stage and the drained case in the serviceable stage are also considered. This numerical analysis results are comprehensive and reflect the limitation of the conventional method. The designers should pay attention to this. This method agrees well with the practical engineering, thus may serve as a reference for similar projects.

Abstract:In order to solve the angle problem of installing semi-circular structure using crane barges on high foundation, this paper puts forward the innovative technologies of installation, according to the current situation of little experience and a specialized construction equipment. Using double hook-single hook device and joint board to control the installation space, and using a/4 to control the deviation of longitudinal axis correction between adjacent semi-circular structures, we can ensure the construction schedule and construction quality, serving as a reference for similar projects.

Abstract:This paper introduces the structure of expansion joints and the implementation of modified expansion joint rubber strips, which were effectively used in Yangshan deepwater harbor project phase Ⅲ. Based on the field data, this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the expansion joints and provides some suggestions regarding the settings of the expansion joint width and the concavo-convex tenon width and the strengthening of the tenon structure in the open-type wharf on piles. It can be referred to in the design of open-type wharf on piles and in the revision of related specifications.

Abstract:The rapid sinking of pile is a common event during the piling execution at a port, especially the pile driving execution at the soft soil foundation. This paper analyzes the causes of rapid pile sinking and points out relevant problems which may be incurred. If the event of rapid pile sinking is not solved properly, it will result in many defects, such as cracks on pile, pile breaking, etc. Based on the analysis and practical project cases, this paper presents the precautionary measures and countermeasures to be taken for rapid pile sinking. Furthermore, it is prooftested that the solutions have good effects. Therefore, it is hoped that the construction measures and experience be used as references for similar works.

Abstract:This paper introduces the technologies of driving HZ/AZ combined steel sheet piles in Nansha port area of Guangzhou port grain and general-purpose wharf. In this project, the guide frame was specially designed,and the equipments are reasonably transformed. Piles are first inserted by the vibrator, and then driven to the design depth by hammer. The results show that both HZ-shape pile and AZ-shape pile are driven to the design depth with good quality. The technology may serve as a reference for similar projects.
