      Abstract (557) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (125) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:To investigate the instability of super-long pile under lateral dynamic load, the double cusps catastrophe model to analysis the dynamic stability of super-long pile is established by catastrophe theory. The mechanism of stability of super-long pile under lateral simple harmonic load is analyzed and the coordinates of two cusps is derived. The effects of nonlinear coefficient 滋and frequency ratio on amplitude of super-long pile are analyzed. The analysis of the parameters shows that: when nonlinear coefficient between two cusps, continuous change of 浊can arise abrupt change of amplitude, that is, produce jumping, which is the mechanism of lateral instability of super-long pile.

      Abstract (1246) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (115) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Based on the limit equilibrium method and the reliability theory, the probability distribution model of safety factors is constructed under consideration of the variability of controlling factors for slope stability. According to the practical engineering characteristics, comparing random safety factors with the critical safety factor to build the security region and failure region, and multiplying the average value of safety factors located in the security region by the slope reliability, we obtained the effective safety factor based on the random dual index. We also achieved the changing characteristics of the mean safety factor, the average value of safety factors, the reliability safety factor and the effective safety factor in different variability of slope stability’s controlling factors by comparison of examples. The example shows that the new randomized evaluation index of slope stability proposed in this paper associates the macroscopic characteristics phenomena of slopes with quantitative analysis, and thus provides a reference for similar slope projects.

      2011(08):80-82.

      Abstract (1445) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (75) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Due to the function of submerged dikes, part of water’s kinetic energy inverts to potential energy, which leads to backwater. The backwater height is hand in glove with the ratio of block-off area under different conditions, such as coefficient of roughness, bottom slope, profile shape and others. Combining the theoretical analysis with the flume experiment, we analyzed the backwater mechanism of submerged dike, and did the experiments on the affect of different bottom slopes, discharges, dams with various heights and dam structures on water level increasing and flow pattern, with the empirical relationship among water level increased, coefficient of local resistance, maximal flow velocity on top of dam and block off area established, and the correction factor of effective block off area for the natural river introduced. Based on the comparison between the calculated results and natural measured data, we verified the reasonableness of the empirical relation.

      Abstract (1316) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (86) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The commissioned deep water berths near the entrance of Tianjin Port have been in the alternation of siltation and dredging since their coming into use in November, 2008. The monthly mean back silting intensity in front of the docks is 1耀1.5 m, which is far more than the theoretical intensity. This paper analyzes the reasons for heavy siltation near oil docks and in harbor based on the sediment source of Tianjin Port, the normal siltation, the recent depth contrast, the dredging project and so on, which is mainly caused by dredging project. And the standpoint that siltation can be decreased by enlarging area of deep water berths and increasing partial channel depth is put forward based on that working with suction dredger in the channel has the largest impact and the prediction that the normal annual average siltation thickness in smaller than 0.7 m.

      Abstract (1489) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (82) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:According to the soil parameters from the survey report and the structural construction drawings of a high-pile pier in Guangzhou, this paper establishes a three-dimensional finite element model of the highpile pier, including the platform, piles, and soil. The surface-to-surface contact model is used on the pile-soil interface, and it allows separation and slip on the interface. The normal pressure and friction from the soil to the piles are reflected by the contact stress. This paper analyzes and figures out the stress fields and displacement fields of the high-pile pier, as well as the axial force diagram and moment curve of single pile, under various load combinations. Further, this paper compares the finite element method results with the traditional inserting point method results, taking Fenghai high-pile pier computing program for example. The differences of the axial force diagram and moment curve of single pile of both methods are found out and analyzed. Specifically, the impacts of the pile foundation soil on the structure are analyzed. Meanwhile, this paper finds out the pile which has the maximum internal force and the position where the extremum bending moment and axis force appears in a single pile, and provides some modifications and supplements for the results of the traditional inserting point method, which may provide references for structural design of high-pile pier.

Abstract:By in-door model experiment of double-layer soil foundation, the bearing capacity of doublelayer foundation was studied with upper hard pans of variable thickness and strength, and the digital photograph of deformation field of the double -layer foundation was taken for analysis. The analysis of p -s curve of pressuring-loading and sedimentation indicates the limit enduring capacity of double-layer foundation increase with the increase of upper hard pan thickness and strength, while the corresponding vertical displacement decrease as the upper hard pan thickness and strength increasing under limit enduring condition. The upper pan with water-cement ratio and thickness respectively as 10% and 30 mm shows different capacity performances with that of water-cement ratio and thickness respectively as 20% and 60mm, with the limit enduring capacity of latter is 3.01 times that of former, and the corresponding sedimentation is 0.11 times that of former under limit enduring foundation. By the technique of DPDM (digital photogrammetry for deformation measurement) the digital photographic analysis of double -layer foundation deformation field was conducted, the results of grid-diagram analysis shows the initial deformation occurred to the lower soft clay, and the deformation zone in grid-diagram stretched gradually upwards to hard pan, downwards to soft clay and stretch horizontally with the increase of loading. The breakdown mode of double-layer foundation is the comprehensive breakdown mode featured by cone-shaped block shear of upper hard pan and punching shear of lower soft clay. The optimization and designing of upper hard pan strength and thickness is of significance in improving foundation reinforcement.
