Using the field survey methods,we carry out a statistical analysis of the main diseases of gravity wharves along the coast of Guangxi region,which include cracks,damage of ancillary facilities of hydraulic structures,structural damage,irregular settlement and displacement,sand leakage,bed scouring,etc. Analyzing the relationship between the diseases and the berth tonnage and that between the diseasea and the operating time,and probing into the causes and hazards of the diseases,we put forward preventive and control measures.
