Abstract:For the impact of landing typhoon on the estuarine entrance of the Yangtze River,we analyze a sequence of fixed-point observed data systematically based on statistical method, which is collected during the three landing typhoons. The results show that after typhoon landing, the significant wave period decreases to normal, and no long-period surge occurs. The water level raises before the typhoon landing, and the maximum surge and greatest significant wave height both occur at the high tide moment before landing. When the significant wave height is above 2 m before the typhoon landing, the waves act as a disincentive to the lateral flow component at the entrance.Other time, the changing process of lateral flow component matches with spring tide well.
