In view of the differences between British geotechnical test standard(BS 1377)and Chinese standard,combining with the geotechnical tests in project of Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge,we discuss some issues that need to be paid attention to in the implementation process of British standard,and analyze the reasons for the differences in test results.The results show that there is no essential difference between the method and principle of the British standard and Chinese standard.However,the two sometimes are considered from different aspects for the treatment of some specific problems,thus the test results of them have subtle differences.In terms of representation and calculation,the two often differ greatly in form,but the essences of them have no difference.It can provide references for the similar projects.
