Abstract:Pile bearing stratum is one of the key factors affecting the bearing capacity of foundation pile.Coral reef limestone is hard and brittle with uneven distribution of soft and hard,which is quite different from the traditional rock and soil types,and brings great uncertainty to the design and construction of pile foundation.It is not reliable to use the traditional pile foundation design theory to determine the construction pile length and bearing layer plan.Therefore,in the stage of pile test,the bearing characteristics of steel pipe piles in different bearing stratum are studied by means of high strain dynamic test and static load test.The results show intuitively that highly weathered coral-reef limestone of which the SPT numbers are up to 80~> 100 should be selected as the pile end bearing stratum in this kind of engineering geology.
