Abstract:Seepage action has a great influence on the stability of foundation pit slope near river, and has important guiding significance for engineering design and construction. In order to further study the influence of seepage on the stability of foundation pit slope,we use the finite element technology to analyze a foundation pit slope of expansion second ship lock in Hunan Province, adopt the combination of seepage and strength reduction method to acquire the distribution characteristics of pore water pressure, analyze the river level variation’s influence on slope stress and deformation, and discuss the evolving rules of slope safety factor. The results show that the rise and fall of river level only has significant impact on the first-level slope. With the increase of river level, the slope safety factor gradually decreases, and the safety factor keeps higher than specification required value when river level is in the range from 37 m to 45 m.
