Abstract:Transportation mode conversion is a very important way for regional energy saving and emission reduction. To quantitatively evaluate the effect of this conversion, this paper focuses on inland navigation channel capacity improvement, and uses Logit model to determine the share rate of inland navigation transferred from railway and road.Based on energy consumption and emission related parameters, the required energy consumption and CO2 emissions before and after the transformation of transport mode are determined respectively, and the contribution of capacity improvement of inland waterway to regional energy conservation and emission reduction is compared and analyzed.Taking the recovery of shipping of Xiaoqing River in Shandong province as an example, the calculation model is adopted for analysis. The results show that the energy saving and CO2 emission reduction of this project are up to 32.10%,indicating that the capacity improvement of inland waterway has a significant effect on energy saving and emission reduction of regional transportation system.
