Abstract:According to the land intensive use problem of the container ports,we put forward a formula to estimate the portland area by combining the methods of simulation,estimation and statistical analysis,and verify the effectiveness of the formula by the data of some ports in China.The deviations between the calculated results and actual values are in the range from -19.63% to 24.08%,among which the deviation within 15%,10% and 5% account for 80%,71% and 43% of total samples respectively,and effectiveness of the formula is verified.Based on the discussion of formula parameters and analysis of common factors in typical port areas,we consider that the following measures should be taken for land intensive utilization in the port area,such as to raise equipment coverage,to increase water to water transfer ratio,to layout automation yard,to increase turnover speed of goods by using new generation of information technology,to arrange intensive auxiliary producing facilities,to optimize road system and to reduce road area occupation,etc.
