Specific design and construction of caisson wharf under extreme heavy load

    Abstract:

    It is a difficult problem for the design and construction of a wharf to guarantee the wharf stability and strictly control the post-construction settlement and displacement under super-large service load.The wharf area at berth No.10 in Zhaoyin harbor district of Xiamen Port is subjected to up to 300 kN/m2 vertical uniformly distributed load,and equipped with the mobile overhead crane with a lifting capacity of 26 MN.For the super-large service load,a large-scale 5 800 t caisson with shearing key,16 000 m3 reinforced concrete platform and super-wide gengon with 41 m top width are designed and constructed.Pertaining to the requirements of strictly controlling the post-construction settlement and displacement of the wharf,the surcharge preloading is implemented for the main part of the wharf,and the post-construction effect reaches the expectation.
