According to the characteristics of BIM,taking an onshore port project as the engineering background,this paper introduces the main application points and technical results of BIM technology in the whole construction process of the project in detail.This project uses wholly BIM,which provides strong technical support for the whole process of the project construction,ensures the quality of engineering construction,reduces construction risk,makes the project safe and reliable completion.The project can accumulate experience for the similar projects in the whole construction process using BIM.Finally,the research direction of BIM in operation and maintenance stage is also pointed out .
