    Abstract:

    In view of the problem of low stability of constructing the rubble-mound dike on soft silty subsoils,using long sand-filled bags,the whole stability of the rubble-mound dike increases through the reinforcement effect of geotextiles,in the same time the section area of the rubble-mound dike is reduced and the cost is saved.Taking the land formation works for Ningbo Daxie China Merchants International Container Terminal as a study case,this paper not only introduces the design methodology and characteristics in respect of the long sand-filled bags & rubble-mound dike structure on soft silty subsoils,but also describes its technical and economic advantages comparing with the conventional slope dike.
