Abstract:The flow condition at the entrance area of the lock approach channel is directly related to the safety of the ship in and out of the lock.For the problems of disadvantageous flow condition,insufficient water depth and big transverse velocity at the entrance area of the lower shiplock approach channel in Shaxikou hydropower station,the whole physical model of upper and lower reaches near the hydroelectric station are established.Combining with the ship model navigation test,we study the navigable flow condition at the entrance area of the lower shiplock approach channel and propose the optimum scheme.The test results of the second optimum scheme shows that,by building a dam and excavating new open channel and permeable partition dikes at the bottom,the navigable flow condition at the entrance area of the lower approach channel is improved significantly and meets basically the specification requirements of the navigation flow condition.The ship model navigation test shows that the ship can pass through the entrance area safely,and the ship maneuvering parameters are controlled within limits of requirements.
