    Abstract:

    The Yangshan sea area is characterized by strong tide,rapid flow and high sediment concentration,and there are complex tidal currents in channels between islands.After completion of the phase I project in the North Yangshan chain,a large-scale recirculation zone was formed during the flood tide period in the wharf water. So,we carried out the tidal current physical model test and obtained a recommended scheme for the phase I project,which solved the problem of recirculation in wharf water during the flood tide period.Furthermore,combining with the scheme selection test of Yangshan deepwater harbor phase I project,we analyze the characteristics of typical tide currents and corresponding sediment movement near islands,and point out matters of attention in planning marine engineerings in these waters.
