Due to the installation features and difficulties of wire rope assemblies used in large vertical ship lifts and the shortcomings of the traditional installation,a new kind of scientific installation technique and operation method for wire rope assemblies are proposed.The measures of precise positioning of the wire rope combined with rope winding device are taken to solve the problems of installation of wire rope assemblies including a large number of wire rope components,large wire rope diameter,narrow construction site,multi-rope groove winding for long ropes and short ropes,etc.This technique has been employed in the construction of Jinghong and Three Gorges ship lifts and achieved remarkable effects.
