    Abstract:

Based on the current state of research and application of the large thin-wall cylindrical structures used in coastal harbors and seawalls both at home and abroad,we design a new type of thin-wall cylindrical structure for the channel regulation.Flume experiments are conducted for its stability without overturning. Results show that under the most unfavorable working condition with 34 m water depth,anti-overturning velocities in unfilled,sand-filled and sand-filled with seating cases are 2.90 ms,3.18 ms and 4.95 ms respectively, which can keep different regulation structures stable. The application of this new type of large cylindrical structure in channel regulation buildings, such as spur dike, training dike and submerged dike, will be promising.
