Influence of soft stratum on stability of soil slope

    Abstract:

    Taking soil slope as the research object and based on the indoor geo-technical experiment,we probe into the stability of soil slope in a soft stratuml under the effect of full stress using the finite element software,analyze the influence of soft stratuml on soil slope stress and the change rule of complete stress-strain process and stability of slope.The results show that:1)under the same strains condition,the principal stress difference increases with the increase of weak interbed’s thickness,which means that under the same stress condition,the specimen’s deformation degree increases with the increase of the intercalated thickness;2)the internal friction angle of the specimen decreases with the increase of the weak interbed’s thickness;3)the safety factor of the slope with soft stratum is less than that without soft stratum,which means that the stability of this situation is even worse,and the safety factor of soil slope decreasies with the increase of the weak interbed’s thickness;4)when the soft stratum and the slope appears a certain angle,the influence degree is the biggest,that of the vertical distribution is the second,and that of the parallel distribution is the smallest.
