Laboratory test is conducted to study the measuring error of impulse method for detection of installation depth of PVD: Measuring lengths of PVD are obtained for different immersion lengths in water. Comparing measuring errors with immersion lengths, we obtain the general tendency of variation of measuring errors and main influential factors.
