Abstract:With the implementation of “the Belt and Road” initiative in China, large coal power plants usually need to be equipped with coal unloading jetty to satisfy the coal transportation in the plant area. For the structural design of a coal unloading jetty located at the mouth of Manila Bay,we consider the severe typhoon monsoon wave conditions and frequent earthquakes in the project area, combine the provisions of Chinese code and the local Philippine code on the design of steel rebar, concrete and structures into account under the premise of security and reliability of the structure, determine the jetty structure, pile foundation and seismic parameters suitable for the project, and summarize the key points of jetty design in the earthquake prone area like Philippines with frequent typhoons. The results show that the high-pile beam slab jetty structure has good adaptability to wind and waves. The second floor mooring platform ensures the safe berthing of the vessel. All vertical bored pile satisfies the load-bearing capacity and the seismic requirements of the structure.
