Abstract:ABU Dhabi Khalifa Port Container Terminal Phase II is an important node project of “One Belt and One Road”.According to the requirements of the construction of automated container terminal,the paper studies the selection of automated mode and the general layout & handling process.By comparing the automation level,traffic organization,yard capacity,personnel investment,construction period,project investment and other aspects,the automated terminal mode (ARMG & tractor trailer) with yard paralleled to jetty apron is selected.The yard capacity can be expanded by intensive arrangement of auxiliary facilities and back-to-back arrangement of single cantilever ARMG.The reliable,advanced,expansible technology of the project shorten construction period and reduce project investment.
