Abstract:We apply the hydrodynamic analysis package MIKE21 based on the third-generation wave model to calculate and evaluate the time and spatial distribution of waves in the offshore of Fujian Province from 2014 to 2016.The results show that the average power density of wave energy in Fujian offshore range is from 1.8 kWm to 8 kWm.Because of the shelter of Taiwan island, the wave height and wave period in the central part of the Taiwan Strait are relatively small, and the wave energy density is small, from 4.2 kWm to 4.8 kWm.The wave energy density in the northern part of the Taiwan Strait increases to 7 kWm in open water. The average wave energy density in the southern part of the strait is close to 8 kWm.Therefore, the location of wave power station is firstly suggested to be located in Pingtan sea area in the northern Taiwan Strait, where the wave energy is relatively large, the water depth is relatively ideal, and the spatial and temporal distribution is relatively stable.
