The Chinese pode is chosen as the armour layer in a deep-water breakwater of an abroad project,but there are few descriptions of Chinese pode in Chinese standards,some detail placement issues are encountered with international consulting engineering during the process of projects,such as the best slope ratio of Chinese pode,the detailed attitude requirements of concrete armour units,and the placing sequence for embankment body,embankment head and embankment top.Compared with the technology of similar concrete armour units developed by other countries,summarized the decades placing experience of Chinese pode from engineers of designation,model testing,and construction,several beneficial detailed placement rules are concluded in this article,which also provides some useful references for similar project.In general,predefined-point random installation is the most efficient placement way to achieve the best hydraulic performance.The predefined location drawing of Chinese pode,and the newly developed technology of underwater visitation system can greatly promote the placement quality.
