Abstract:Vertical wall wharf deck elevation can be determined according to the flood degree in the Chinese standard. However,in the design standards of Britain,America and other foreign countries,it is proposed that the design water level, safe operation of loading and unloading equipment, and the degree of submergence should be taken into account in the elevation of wharf surface.Among them, the degree of inundation of wharf surface should be the main factor to be considered. This paper takes the mean overtopping discharge as the criterion for classifying the degree of inundation of wharf surface, and introduces calculation of the mean overtopping discharge.Based on this, the calculation method of vertical wall wharf deck elevation is proposed and compared with the calculation methods in domestic and foreign codes. This method has practical reference significance for wharf design of the same kind and also for the control of operation safety standard of wharf.
