Abstract:Aiming at the toe rock stability of rubble mound breakwaters in deep water,we apply 2D physical models to research the problem. The results show that there are some differences between deep water situations and depth limited situations in the change rules of toe rock stability with relative water depth ht/h and damage number Nod.Based on the test results,we perform an in-deep analysis of factors that may affect the toe rock stability, and modify the Van der Meer formula. The revised Van der Meer formula is in good agreement with the test results, which can be used as reference for the design of rubble mound breakwater in deep water.
