Abstract:In the practice of the Yangtze River channel regulation engineering,the effects of deposition promotion and beach protection of penetrating frame groups have been proven.Previous studies focus on penetrating groups,current characteristics,and bed morphology characteristics.However,there is a lack of studies on the measurement index of the effects of beach protection of penetrating frame groups.Moreover,the effects of different plain layouts of frames on bed morphology characteristics have not been clarified.This paper concentrated on the bed morphology characteristics whose central bar was protected by the penetrating frame groups under the influence of river scouring through generalized flume experiments.The measurement indexes of effects of frame groups was proposed.The characteristics of erosion and deposition as well as the effects of deposition promotion and sand protection of different layout designs were compared and the layout design principles of the central bar under the influence of scouring were concluded accordingly.
