Abstract:The Taipingkou waterway is the first sandy micro-bend sub-river section in the lower reaches of the Three Gorges.The trough pattern of this section is severely adjusted,and the navigation conditions are extremely unstable.It has become the block for the Yangtze River trunk shipping.Taking the Taipingkou waterway as the research object,in view of the unfavorable changes in the main shoal of the Three Gorges reservoir after the impoundment of the Three Gorges reservoir,we establish a two-dimensional numerical model.The calculation results show that in the future,Yanglinji will further accumulate and squeeze the northern branch channel,and the navigation conditions will continue to deteriorate.The southern branch waters are obviously better than northern branch,and there is a trend of further development,especially the inflow process will further promote the development of southern branch.On the basis of this,from the perspective of economy,rationality and adapting to natural changes,the idea of channel improvement,we propose the related management methods with the goal of “from southern trough to southern branch”,which provides reference for the specific treatment of the river section in the later.
