In view of the design problems concerning the quick release hook including beyond-scope use of a single hook and over safe load tension of a single hook,this paper probes into the way for the quick release hook to guarantee the safe mooring of ships.Analyzing the reasons of beyond-scope use of the quick release hook from three aspects including the ship’s mooring,the wharf berthing ships’ tonnage,as well as the standard content for the old and new terminals,and studying the reason of over safe load tension of a single hook from the wind and surging effect and the ship loading & unloading and the flood and ebb,this paper puts forward the countermeasures including strengthening the use management for the quick release hook,updating and renovating the quick release hook,as well as the periodic testing and setting terminal chock.
